NEWS
--Earlier this week Bishop Donald Kettler announced the St. Cloud Diocese has suspended all Masses weekday and weekend through Easter Monday (April 13th) at churches. Little Falls Radio has extended an invitation and will have Father Mark, Father Jimmy and Father Ben to provide a Sunday Mass this Sunday morning at 9:00am on AM960 KLTF and available online through fallsradio.com.

--All Little Falls City Facilities including City Hall and the Police Department are closed to the public through the end of the month. Emergency Personnel will continue working. Prescription medication dropboxes will be suspended at this time. Little Falls City Council and committeee meetings will be held remotely or postponed. The city has numerous ways to pay bills without in person visits including online and mail in payment options, but the city of Little Falls will waive late fees on utility bills due April 5th.

--The 10th annual Day of Caring is scheduled from 8:00am-12:00pm on Wednesday, May 6th. At this time, they are pressing pause on the planning stage to wait and learn more about what might happen in the coming weeks amdist the COVID-19 pandemic. They were scheduled to call homeowners who were helped this past year this coming Tuesday night, but now those phone calls will not happen. Distance Learning will begin at area schools on Monday, March 30th, and the Governor is expected next week to provide direction for how long the distance learning scenario may last. The Day of Caring is waiting to see what information becomes available before any decisions on the Day of Caring are made. If you happened to sign up already that is alright, but you should be advised of the potential uncertainty of the event. Again at this time, the Day of Caring is pausing preparations until we learn more. Little Falls Radio will communicate any changes.

--Kinship of Morrison County, a non-profit youth mentoring program based in Little Falls, has a group of volunteers (youth and adults) who are able and willing to help run errands / pick up groceries for senior citizens in the Little Falls area. Many seniors have friends, family, or their church that looks out for them, but many don’t. Kinship wants to help fill that gap. If you would like this kind of help, please contact Kinship at (320) 632-8806. They will then let you know the availability and timeliness of help. This is a free service (any cost of goods excluded) as a small way that Kinship can give back and help protect those that are more at risk during this time.

--A message from the Little Falls Area Chamber of Commerce that they will remain open to serve community members during this period of time, the community and address the concerns of the Arts & Crafts and Market Place Fair vendors. At this time, the Fair weekend to be staged as normal in September. For the month of March, Chamber events are being postponed and rescheduled including March 20th Friday Morning Coffee cancelled, Lunchtime on Location March 25th postponed, and April 2nd Business after Hours has been postponed. --If you know someone scheduled to take their driver's test they're going to have a wait a while before they can get behind the wheel on their own. The Minnesota Department of Public Safety and Vehicle Services division is canceling all road tests through next Friday, March 27th due to COVID-19 concerns. Anyone who has a class D, commercial driver's license, or motorcycle road test appointment scheduled during this time will receive a cancellation notice.

--More items called in yesterday on cancellations included First Lutheran Church no lenten services or events, St Peter's Lutheran Church in Swanville no lenten services or events, French Toast Breakfast April 5th for Buckman Lions cancelled, the meeting March 24th regarding the future of the Relay for Life in Morrison County has been cancelled. Instead, the American Cancer Society will be looking for virtual input regarding the future of Relay For Life in Morrison County. Crane Meadows announced that their Habitat Day is postponed and will be made up at a later date but they stated that the refuge itself is open to the traill hikers at this time. New 2 You Thrift Store is not taking any donations at this time due to not enough staffing for donations. Holy Name Society of Holy Cross in Harding has cancelled their ham bingo this Sunday, Holy Cross and St. John's will still have their regular confession schedule and members of the parish can pick up a Pastor's update weekly at Holy Cross and St. John's for the time being since there will be no Masses. Another reminder that with businesses closing due to the governor's orders and schools closed to students, best to call ahead to see if it open.

--A man faces a felony weapons charge after he allegedly fired several gunshots in downtown St. Cloud earlier this month. 32-year-old Carl Salters Jr. is accused of firing the shots at two men he had an argument with inside the Red Carpet bar. A St. Cloud Police officer was patrolling downtown St. Cloud around 1:30am on March 1st when he heard gunshots near the Centre Square parking ramp. Responding officers found six spent shell casings from a 9-millimeter gun and a bullet hole in a nearby car which was unoccupied. Through surveillance video and interviews with witnesses, police were able to determine Salters was the triggerman. No one was hurt.

--The Pierz City Council is scheduled to meet Monday at 7pm at Pierz City Hall, they are asking, unless you have business with the city council on their agenda already to attend or to call ahead if you feel you are unable to do so and they ask non-essential visitors at this time not to attend the meeting due to recent health concerns.

NFL= Two more Vikings have been signed by other teams. Defensive Back Trae Waynes has signed with the Cincinnati Bengals and Linvall Joseph signed with Chargers, and in another NFL notes Jacksonvile has traded QB Nick Foles to the Chicago Bears.
CLASSIC= due to many sports ceasing at the time with COVID 19 they are going to be running classic games from the past, this includes the Minnesota Twins for what was to be the start of their season to begin on March 26th. Keep tuned for more details.
