NEWS
--A 41-year-old from Pierz is dead and her 8 year old passenger injured in an accident last night at 6:17pm in Buh Township of Morrison County. Cindy Ann Meyer was traveling on Highway 25 at 163rd Street when she left the roadway and rolled the vehicle in the ditch. The State Patrol report stated that Meyer died from injuries in the accident and the 8-year-old passenger was taken to St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls with injuries from the accident.

--Ron Kresha on KLTF Wednesday stated that the idea to help 1,000 people this Easter season with a free meal for those unable to go to an Easter meal, don't have family around here or are in need of a meal as they cannot afford one are welcome to the Easter meal that Kresha and the Little Falls Ministerial Association is working to put on. This week they need donations of up to $5,000 as of yesterday morning Ron said they were at a little over $3,000. To donate call Pastor Swedeen at 632-2100 before Friday. If the monies are raised then Monday they will start taking orders for meals and they can be picked up on Saturday April 3rd. Also they will deliver meals on Easter Sunday April 4th if you cannot pick one up on Sunday. Ron also stated that if you live in Pierz, Swanville, Upsala, Royalton, Randall and other towns in the county and you can help pick up or deliver meals for that community to call 761-6133 and he will set it up so members in that community can also get a free Easter meal this year. More details on the meals information will be released Monday on KLTF.

--Members of the Darling Church Memorial Incorporated gave an update on KLTF Wednesday about the works being done to memorialize the church burned down four years ago yesterday, March 24th, 2017 by arson northwest of Little Falls. Earl Mathisen of the group stated that they are currently seeking donations on phase 2 of the project, phase 1 was a stone to remember the church which was laid last year, also security cameras and lights to help that cemetery and areas where the church was not to be vandalized or set on fire like in 2017. Phase 2, is to create a shelter with kiosks on the history of the church and an area protected by the elements for people to view the kiosks. Phase 3, is a ways away which would be a small prayer chapel kind of resembling the larger Darling Church in the future. If you want to help donate brochures are available from the members, at the shops in Little Falls, or call Earl at 320-217-8612. Bill Johnson also has CD's remembering the church with songs, poems and other items on his CD which are availble for a $10 donation. Bill also donated some CD's to the station as prizes for the spring edition of the KLTF Memory Game starting on Monday, April 12th.

--The Morrison County Sheriff's Office is sending out a reminder again on scams in the area, they recently received word from the Little Falls Police Department about multiple complaints that residents have received a phone call from a local number with an individual having a foreign accent claiming to be a Officer with the Little Falls Police Department. In one incident, the caller claimed to be Officer Jennifer from the Little Falls Police Department and that they had a warrant and were coming to arrest them if they did not give out the information they requested. Please use caution and never give out personal information over the phone. If you recently received a call like this you asked to contact the police department at 616-5570.

--The Pierz Lions announced their Easter event this year will be a drive through style event at 10am April 3rd in the parking lot at Pierz Healy High School. The Easter Bunny will hand out candy filled eggs.

--Authorities in Morrison County are investigating the death of a Little Falls man. The Morrison County Sheriff's Office says they assisted the Royalton Police Department after a body was found under a vehicle at Rick’s Towing & Auto Sales. The victim was identified as 39-year-old Nicholas Norstad. The circumstances surrounding his death remain under investigation.

--An Alexandria man was killed in a crash in Todd County. The Minnesota State Patrol says it happened Tuesday around 7:30pm on Highway 27 in Bruce Township, which is just east of Long Prairie. Twenty-two-year-old Sean Callaway was going west when his car went off the road, struck an approach, and rolled.

--Little Falls Catholic, which is composed of the churches of Holy Family, Our Lady of Lourdes, and St. Mary’s, will be a distribution site for the next round of the USDA Farmers to Families Food Box Program. This is part of the coronavirus assistance program developed to help farmers, ranchers and consumers in response to the impact of the pandemic. The date for the next distribution is Thursday, April 1st from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. No appointment is needed; however, food will not be distributed before 3:30pm. The distribution will be held at Holy Family Church at: 18777 Riverwood Dr. Little Falls. If you would like to volunteer to help, contact Deacon Bruce Geyer at 320-616-1213. Cars should enter from the south.

--There were 180 active cases in Morrison County of COVID-19 on the county website Wednesday with 80 of those in Pierz zip code and 48 in the Little Falls zip code, Hillman 23 and Royalton at 12. Morrison County reported 11 new cases yesterday with 1,323 new state cases.

--The St. Cloud Fire Department responded to a fire in an unoccupied bus Monday morning. The fire caused an estimated $85,000 in damage. According to the report, the fire department responded to a location near Highway 75 just south of Interstate Highway 94 at about 8:33am Monday. The cause of the fire remains under investigation but it was not believed to be suspicious.

Class AA tomorrow with Pierz's Trevor Radunz wrestling in individuals, Class A Saturday for Royalton-Upsala as a team at 9am, individuals for the team and Holdingford start at 2pm Saturday.
