--At 3:30pm Tuesday the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office was involved in a motor vehicle pursuit that covered a 30-mile stretch of Highway 10 from Royalton to Cushing. According to the Sheriff’s Office, St. Cloud Police Department was involved in a pursuit with a white Chrysler Concord that was on Highway 10 heading into Royalton. Morrison County deputies picked up the pursuit north of Royalton and continued to pursue the vehicle on Highway 10 to the Cushing area near County Road 16. Along the way, several officers attempted to deploy stop sticks on the vehicle but were unsuccessful. Eventually the vehicle attempted to turn into the oncoming lane of traffic, traveling northbound in the southbound lanes. A PIT (Pursuit Intervention Tactic) maneuver was used to stop the vehicle. Both occupants were taken into custody. According to the Sheriff’s Office, 36-year-old Tyrone Cloud of Minneapolis was arrested for Fleeing a Peace Office in a Motor Vehicle. The Passenger, 37-year-old Travis Martin of Ponemah was also arrested for multiple warrants. They both are being held in Morrison County Jail. --Dave St. Peter of the Minnesota Twins in a statement Tuesday stated that as many of you know, Major League Baseball has yet to reach a new collective bargaining agreement with the Major League Baseball Players Association; as a result, Spring Training is being further delayed through Friday, March 11. Additionally, since it is important to have four weeks of Spring Training for players to safely prepare for the season, Opening Day of the 2022 MLB season, previously scheduled for March 31, is being delayed and the first two series have been removed from the schedule with the tentative start day for the regular season on April 7th or 8th. We are disappointed in this news and know that you are too. But, we are confident that MLB continues to negotiate in good faith, is working hard to find areas of compromise, and is exhausting every option to protect the fullest schedule possible and to start the season you and our fans deserve.
While we unfortunately won’t be able to listen to Minnesota Twins baseball on March 31 from Chicago, I have my sights set on another date in the very near future: Thursday, April 7, when we are set to host the Seattle Mariners at Target Field in a game that is still scheduled and, pending an agreement, will hopefully be our new Opening Day of the 2022 season. When the Twins return to action you can hear the games live on 92.1FM Q92 WYRQ.

--A Paynesville man is charged with four felonies after allegedly breaking into a home, brandishing a gun, and firing shots at one of the victims who was trying to leave the scene. Thirty-two-year-old Elliot Barg is charged with two counts of 2nd degree assault with a dangerous weapon, 1st degree assault with a dangerous weapon while committing a burglary, and 1st degree burglary while having a gun. Police responded to a gun complaint at a home in the 30-thousand block of County Road 28 in Paynesville Township Sunday. According to the complaint, a woman said she was estranged from her husband, had changed the locks on the house, and that Barg was living elsewhere. Barg allegedly burst into the home around 6am holding a handgun, chambered a round, and said it was time for the man who was in the home with his estranged wife to leave. The victim left, got into his vehicle, and started leaving. Court records show Barg aimed the gun at the man's vehicle and fired three shots. Barg is then accused of following the victim until the victim pulled into the police department. Police say they found a 9mm handgun on Barg and used a search warrant to match shell casings found at the scene to those found in a fish house where Barg had been living.
