--Tonight is the Kiwanis Trivia Night at Great River Arts in Little Falls. The event is a fundraiser as all funds raised tonight Kiwanis International of Little Falls will give to Morrison County 4H for their youth and animal projects throughout the next year. The event starts at 7:00pm. If you still wish to put a team of 6 together for the event tonight, contact Dan at 632-3606.

--Local artist Charles Kapsner spoke on KLTF on Tuesday and gave an update on the Military Portrait project at the State Veteran's Cemetery north of Little Falls. He is currently on the final portrait, the U.S. Air Force, which he hopes to have completed by the end of next summer for unveiling. Already the U.S. Army, Navy, Coast Guard and Marine Corp. (which was finished last year) are on display at the committal hall. It was also 10 years ago at the first Charles Kapsner's Salon show when he was approached to begin that military art project. Kapsner's Salon show is scheduled again this year on Friday night at 7:00pm at the Great River Arts in Little Falls.

--Central Minnesota will continue to see cold and windy conditions today and another rain/snow possible mix Sunday with minor slushy spots. Shovels and plows are expected over the next few days to be out in northeastern Minnesota. A line from Itasca County to the north and east saw periods of sleet and snow Wednesday and more expected today. Another round of sleet and snow Saturday and Sunday which is expected to bring 3-7 inches of snow to that area by the end of the weekend. Also some areas will have to deal with freezing rain bringing slippery roads and difficult travel at times. The Little Falls to Brainerd region should be mainly dry into Saturday with rain Saturday afternoon changing to wet snow on Sunday with the temps going from near 50 Saturday, falling into the 30's by Sunday.

--The death of a 34-year-old Long Prairie woman has been ruled an accident. Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office ruled Monday that Christy Ann Bearson died August 1st from complications of thermal injuries suffered in a house fire in Leslie Township in Todd County. Bearson was attempting to light a pilot light on a household appliance when a gas fire erupted causing an explosion that totaled the house. Bearson was found inside severely burned and later died from injuries.

--The driver of an SUV that left the roadway on Highway 371 in Cass County sustained serious injuries early Wednesday morning around 1:30am. 54-year-old Edward Blomseth of Nahaytahwaush, Minnesota sustained life threatening injuries and airlifted to Bemidji Hospital.

--St. Cloud State University received a $1 million donation for their nursing program. Jim Maciej and his wife Anna Marie Maciej decided to make the donation. Maciej is a 1973 graduate of St. Cloud State. Both are from Annandale. The funds will be used to help create the new nursing simulation labs and provide other technology for the nursing program.

--The Little Falls Radio Cash Cube will be at Fallsnet today. Last week a number of people registered to get in the Cash Cube and will get first crack at a number of prizes including Mall of America prize package with mini-golf and hotel stay, and Minnesota Zoo passes along with items from our participating businesses including Fallsnet. There may be a chance for others today who walk in between 11am and 1pm to play in the Cash Cube and come and see if you will be the next winner in the Cash Cube and listen live 11-1 today on Q92.

--An ATV driver has been charged with criminal vehicular homicide for allegedly driving drunk and causing a crash that killed a mother of seven in Morrison County over the weekend. 45-year old Eric Scholl of Royalton is charged with operating the ATV when it rolled and ejected one of the passengers on the Soo Line Trail Saturday night. That passenger, 37-year-old Karla Scheel of Rice was trapped under the ATV and pronounced dead when authorities arrived. When speaking to Scholl, a deputy noticed a strong odor of alcohol on him as well as bloodshot, watery eyes, slurred speech and a staggered balance. Scholl performed poorly on several sobriety tests. He was arrested for driving drunk. According to the charges, the other passenger told police the three of them had been at the Hillman Bar and Grill in Hillman. Scholl posted $25,000 bail and was released with no conditions. His next court appearance was not released.

--Two men accused of involvement in an altercation at a St. Cloud store Sunday night in which one is suspected of pulling a handgun on the other are facing charges. 50-year old Richard Allen Waagen of Randall is charged with two felony counts of second-degree assault with a firearm and terroristic threats. He is accused of threatening 60-year old Mark Daniel Gibbs of Luverne with a pistol after Gibbs confronted him about an argument in the store. Gibbs is charged with two gross misdemeanor counts of carrying a pistol without a permit and negligent storage of a firearm and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct. Gibbs was also found to have a gun, but not seen threatening Waagen with it.

--Aitkin County has located a missing 14-year old who allegedly ran away on Monday. Aubrey Nelson was located walking on foot Tuesday and returned to her residence and family unharmed.

--Join Swanville High School for a special free concert Saturday night with the choirs of Little Falls, Royalton, Brainerd and Alexandria with others in a Chorale to perform the music of our greatest composers. The free concert is at 7:30pm at the Swanville Auditorium.
