NEWS
--Pierz Schools Superintendent George Weber late yesterday announced via facebook that Pierz Healy High School will move to hybrid learning effective Monday, October 12th. This is for all students grades 7-12 in the high school. This will not effect students that attend Pioneer Elementary and also it reported would also not effect students at Holy Trinity Catholic School in Pierz at this time. Weber said that half the of the grades 7-12 will attend school Mondays and Thursdays, the other half Tuesdays and Fridays. All practices, athletics and other school type events are not to be affected by going to hybrid learning and the school is working with students and families on transportation and food services. Again Pierz will go to hybrid learning on October 12th and more details will be posted in the coming days at the Pierz School website.

--Little Falls Community Schools was notified of a confirmed case of COVID-19 affecting a member of Little Falls Community Middle School with an exposure date of Sunday, September 27. Because of the nature of this case, there are very, very limited close contacts associated with it. The risk of exposure for other individuals present in the Middle School on the dates before September 27 is no greater than the risk of contracting the virus in the general community.

--A reminder from Little Falls Community Schools that Friday will be a non-student day at public schools as the schools get prepared for hybrid learning Monday for the Community Middle School and High School. Hybrid learning starts for those on Monday, October 5th. Also the Little Falls School Board meets today at noon to finalize and approve the hybrid model that starts on Monday, October 5th.

--Aaron Olson of Kinship of Morrison County announced Wednesday on KLTF that the Kinship of Morrison County Soup and Chili Cookoff for Kids will move forward but be modified due to the recent restrictions. The event is October 13th from 5-7pm at the Falls Ballroom. Unlike previous years there wil be no individual tickets sold and no tickets sold at the door on the night of the event. Businesses, families, friends and organizations can purchase a table of 6 for $150 for the event and only 250 will be allowed in the ballroom by state guidelines so seating and tickets are limited. Soup and Chili will be served to the tables not along lines like in previous years so cooks and volunteers will serve each table start at 5pm sharp with the samples, along with breadstricks, ice cream and other parts of the cookoff. There will be live music and also a vitural mobile style auction and raffle being put together. --Charges were filed Tuesday against a Brainerd man after allegedly stealing a vehicle that led to the lockdown at Crossroads Center Mall Monday. St. Cloud police say they received a report that a man had stolen a lawn care company's pickup truck and trailer in the 1400 block of Northway Drive at around 3:15pm. A short time later Waite Park police found the stolen vehicle in the parking lot near the Food Court and saw the suspect enter the mall. Officers set up a perimeter and the mall went into lockdown. At around 4:00pm police found the suspect inside Macy's and arrested him. The man has been identified as 36-year old Christopher Duffert of Brainerd. Police say Duffert had several felony warrants for his arrest from other jurisdictions. In addition to those charges, he also faces charges of theft of a motor vehicle and fleeing police.

--The Little Falls Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce their October Employee of the Month is Paul Marcus from CenterPoint Energy. Paul has been a Service Technician at CenterPoint Energy for 33 years. Congratulations Paul Marcus, Little Falls Area Chamber of Commerce October Employee of the Month.

--A number of listeners informed Little Falls Radio in the recent days that there has been a string of political signs stolen from yards in different parts of the county. Law enforcement is reminding those that if it is a prank, thinking it is humerous or just because you don't care for that particular person who is running for office, that is no reason to steal another persons property. THIS IS A CRIME and you can be charged with theft and if found with stolen property could face jail time hefty fines. Please leave the signs alone.

--Minnesota Department of Health numbers Wednesday show 689 new cases of COVID-19 with 16 new deaths linked to the virus. Morrison County reported 10 new cases on Wednesday of COVID-19. The Morrison County website reports 91 active cases of COVID-19 with 21 hospitalizations since all testing began. Of the 91 cases according to the website 47 in Little Falls, 12 in Pierz and all others are under 10 for each zip code listed on the site.

--Anthony Housey of Camp Ripley was on KLTF Party Line Wednesday and stated that training will continue through the fall months with a lot of aircraft flying around the area and the possibility of some loud booms could still occur. Housey mentioned that Camp Ripley in coordinance with the City of Little Falls is leasing some of the older Crestliner Boats property and that you might have seen military personnel working out that direction at times. DNR Turkey Hunts are being put together. Works are also underway on the Veterans Deer Hunting available through the National Guard website. --Country singer and actor Mac Davis died Tuesday at age 78. Davis had a number of hits inclide “Lord It's Hard to Humble” in 1980. Also “I am Woman” singer and activist Helen Reddy died Tuesday at 78.

SPORTS
TWINS= Houston eliminates the Twins 3-1 yesterday to take the best of three series 2-0 at Target Field. Twins season is over.
NFL= Vikings have suspended all in person activities Tuesday and Wednesday and are expected to be back practicing today as all players and staff have tested negative so far of COVID-19. Tennessee announced yesterday they are not practicing until Saturday and had their game with Pittsburgh Sunday postponed to early next week.
