NEWS
--A Bertha woman was injured Monday morning at 6:29am on Highway 10 at Azalea Road in Motley Township of Morrison County. Peggy Becker was northbound on 10 when a pickup came from Azalea Road and the 2 vehicles collided. Becker taken to was Staples Hospital with non life threatening injuries. The pickup driver 50-year-old Troy Peterson of Florida was not injured according to the report.

--Four were injured one critically in an accident Sunday at 4:21pm on Highway 371 at Birchdale Road in Crow Wing County. 79-year-old Johnson Loud of Bloomington crossed 371 from the intersection and was struck by a vehicle driven by 31-year-old Donald Snyders of Nisswa. Snyders and his 2 passenger ages 31 and 4 were treated for non life threating injuries at the scene and refused hospitalization. Loud was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with life threatening injuries.

--Little Falls Community Schools is holding Registration this week today through Thursday. All families of the District, both new and returning, are urged to come to the Community High School Commons during the week to register students who will be attending school in the District. Representatives of all five buildings will be available to help make sure all necessary paperwork is completed before school begins. Registration Week will allow families to complete all necessary paperwork for all of their children in one location. There is no need to set up an appointment. Instead, just find a time slot that works well for your family- Tuesday 12-7pm, Wednesday 8am-3pm and Thursday 12-7pm. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the school at 632-2002. Little Falls School Superintendent Stephen Jones is the guest this morning at 8:30am on AM960 KLTF Community Program.

--Yesterday on AM960 KLTF Vern Capelle, Superintendent of Upsala stated they will be sending out a revised return to school plan in the days ahead for those to get the guidelines for the school year with the hope of some normalcy and guideline on what to expect. Capelle mentioned they have new staff members and expect a busy year of events, academics and community support like in years past. Capelle stated they will have a referendum planned to be voted on the general election day of November 2nd thi s year and the layout is being put together on what will be on before the vote takes place. Capelle thanked the Upsala School District for their support and if you have questions feel free to call him at the school 320-573-2174.

--Two people were hurt at 2:26pm Sunday on Highway 169 at Grand Avenue in Kathio Township of Mille Lacs County. 68-year-old Donald Driver of Wahkon rear ended a vehicle driven by 31-year-old Sean Siegel of Norwood-Young America which then caused his vehicle to strike a third driven by 41-year-old Elizabeth O'Brien of Elko. Driver and a passenger in the 2nd vehicle Renee Siegle were treated at the Onamia Hospital for injuries that were not life threatening.

--The Minnesota State Patrol reported an accident Thursday just after noon on Highway 371 near Pine River in Cass County. 74-year-old Dianne Martin of Longville struck a vehicle turning from 371 driven by Alita Reque-Peterson, age 37 of Pine River. Both drivers were not injured. The State Patrol stated that there were minor children in the Peterson vehicle and they were checked out at the scene and then reportedly taken to a local clinic for injuries there were not serious.

--Central Lakes College Brainerd and Staples are the latest college/university to announced that beginning today they are mandating that all staff, students, visitors and others enterting the facility are mandated to wear masks for the safety of others.

--The Little Falls Fire Department was called to 16312 138th Avenue in Green Prairie Township last night at 7:36pm to a possible building fire. The fire department arrived to find a house fully engulfed in flames. The lone resident had escaped the house with the assistance of neighbors and a sheriff's deputy. Little Falls firefighters were assisted with Camp Ripley firefighters. The house was a total loss. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Minnesota State Fire Marshal's office. There were no injuries reported. Fire Chief Craig Seelen also reported that there were two calls to the fire department on Sunday evening but one was cancelled before they reached the site and other was cleared by law enforcement before they got there.

--A Sauk Centre man is charged with providing liquor to a 13-year-old girl and then sexually assaulting her. According to the charges filed in Stearns County District Court, 20-year-old Jose Briseno-Hernandez and the girl were at the same home Saturday, when the two began drinking whiskey. The girl told authorities she became extremely intoxicated. Briseno-Hernandez then allegedly brought her to a bedroom and forced the girl to perform a sex act. The girl said he then forced her to have intercourse. Court records allege Briseno-Hernandez told police he knew the girl was 13-years-old and admitted to drinking alcohol and having sex with her.

--The Isanti Police Dept. is requesting assistance in locating a missing woman. Amanda Jo Vangrinsven, 32, is 5’3” and was last seen on August 5th near the Isanti VFW wearing a blue Twins shirt and jeans shorts. Anyone with information on Amanda Jo Vangrinsven’s whereabouts is urged to contact Isanti PD via Isanti Co. Sheriff’s Office Dispatch at 763-689-2141 or dial 911. Photos of Vangrinsven have been posted local law enforcement social media sites.

--The Itasca County Sheriff's Office says they've received credible information that 40-year old Ryan Whitworth is traveling and is safe. He was reported missing last week and a BCA missing persons alert was sent out. The sheriff's office said they've canceled the alert.

--The Knights of Columbus #1804 will be hosting a Chicken and Corn Feed on Thursday from 6-8pm at the Falls Ballroom. Details can be viewed on the fallsradio.com and click on community calendar.

TWINS= White Sox beat up the Twins last night 11-1. The Twins have game 2 with White Sox tonight 6:30pm on Q92 WYRQ.
REGION 8C= The Region 8C Tournament moves to Upsala this weekend. Saturday has two state qualifying/elimination games starting with Ft. Ripley vs. St. Stephen at 1pm, then Buckman and Foley at 4pm. Winners will play Sunday at 3 for the 3rd and 4th seeds to the state. The Region Championship game is Sobieski vs. Avon Sunday at noon with winner getting top seed in state and a first round bye with the other as the #2 seed for state tournament which begins the weekend of August 20th in the Waconia/Hamburg area.
