--More filings per the county- included in Townships Cushing Township: Incumbent Treasurer Janice Stavish filed for re-election. A four-year supervisor seat remains open. Hillman Township: Incumbent Supervisor Tom Kruschek filed and Charlotte Kastanek filed for clerk. Morrill Township: Incumbents Supervisor Richard Kieffer and Clerk Joan Nichols filed for re-election. Mount Morris Township: Filing for re-election were incumbents Supervisor Ronald Meyer and Clerk Tammie Gotvald, both four-year terms. Pierz Township: Supervisor Alan Hoheisel filed for re-election. Pulaski Township: Filing for the Supervisor Seat A were Ken Jensen and Paul Tschida; for the Seat B Supervisor Incumbent Allen Woitalla filed. Incumbent Treasurer Lynn Dukowitz filed for re-election and Samantha Bowman filed for the treasurer seat. Richardson Township: Incumbents Supervisor Mark Johnson and Clerk Cheryl Lincoln filed for re-election. In a special election for treasurer, Beverly Insley filed. Rosing Township: Incumbent Clerk/Treasurer Anita Walker filed for re-election. Scandia Valley Township: Incumbents Supervisor Ian Newkirk and Clerk Kathie Headley both filed for re-election. Russ Nygren filed for one of the other two open supervisor seats. For the school board candidates up for election Little Falls: Incumbent Julie LeMieur and Doug Dahlberg and Kelsie Herzog. Pierz: Incumbents Steve Boser and Rick Sczublewski and Ashley Toops. Royalton: Tyra Baumann, Rian Hofstad, Elizabeth Verley and Angela Roering. Swanville: Incumbents Chris Kircher, Luke Peterson, Kathy Beckman. Upsala: Incumbent Stephen Roerick and Brittany Harren, Randy Leners, and Marvin D. Wensmann.

--The Crow Wing County Sheriff Scott Goddard reports that shortly before 5:00am on Wednesday along with assistance from the Crow Wing County Tactical Response Team, the Baxter Police Department, and the Brainerd Police Department executed a narcotics search warrant at a residence located in the 1100 block of 4th Avenue in northeast Brainerd. Two adults were taken into custody on weapons and controlled substance crime charges. Both individuals were housed at the Crow Wing County Jail. The street value of the controlled substance seized is approximately $9,000. Then the Crow Wing County Sheriffs Office along with assistance from the Crow Wing County Tactical Response Team, the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Minnesota State Patrol, the Crosby Police Department, and the Brainerd Police Department executed a narcotics search warrant at a residence located in the 2900 block of State Highway 6 near the City of Crosby. One adult male was taken into custody on weapons and controlled substance crime charges. This individual was housed at the Crow Wing County Jail. The street value of the controlled substance seized is approximately $10,000. Crow Wing County Sheriff Scott Goddard would like to thank all the agencies that were involved with this joint operation on both cases.

--Minnesota Department of Health numbers from Monday, 567 new cases with 6 new deaths linked to COVID-19. There was one new case in Morrison County making 104 cases since testing started, in the past 14 days there has been 21 cases of COVID-19 since Aug 3rd.

--The Little Falls FFA is hosting there 90th anniversary open house this Sunday from 1-4pm at the Little Falls Community High School Ag Department. All past and present members and those you have supported and still suport FFA are welcome and view the items, which includes a light meal provided by recent guidelines, all free.

--At 10:39am Saturday the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an ATV crash with injuries on 25th Avenue, south of Balcony Road, approximately three miles south of Swanville. According to the Sheriff’s Office, 45-year old Victor Althaus of Little Falls, was southbound on 25th Avenue testing his ATV. According to Althaus the throttle stuck causing the ATV to accelerate. Althaus was thrown from the ATV and it went into the ditch. Althaus was transported to St. Gabriel’s Hospital by Mayo Clinic Ambulance with unknown injuries.

--Morrison County Administrator Deb Gruber and Community Development Director Carol Anderson spoke on Little Falls Radio Monday to state that local businesses (housed in Morrison County with proper address information) can get a grant from the CARES funding from federal and state funds to help with rents, utilty bills, common needs and items related with COVID-19 safety and sanitizing items can be used from the $5,000. It cannot be used for items lost or revenue lost from March-May when many businesses were shut down from stay at home orders. If you had signed up from a city loan/grant program you can sign up again for this program as it is different funding than what was done in Little Falls, Pierz or other cities and townships. Applications can be accepted through August 28th through Community Development 632-5466 or through the Morrison County Government Center website.

--Morrison County Adminstrator Deb Gruber stated that the parking lot project at the government center is completed and they are tidying up inside the government center finishing their remodeling project. Also the Department of Motor Vehicles is taking walk ins but still best to make an appointment in advance to advoid any waits.

--The Minnesota State Patrol reported this past weekend, a 21-year-old from Mora was injured when his ATV rolled near Princeton Sunday, a 58-year-old from Bemidji was hurt in a two-vehicle accident Saturday in Wadena, there were also 3 accident reports in Wright County and a motorcycle accident in Sherburne County that injured a Princeton man all from this past weekend. They also responded to a small plane crash Saturday near Brandon in Douglas County, no injuries were reported at the site.

CLASS C= The Class C State Amateur Baseball Tournament begins on Friday night with Hadley vs. Randall at 7:30pm, then Saturday at 11am it will be Avon vs. Union Hill followed at 2pm by Ft. Ripley vs. Buffalo. All games in Milroy and all games live on AM960 KLTF.
TWINS= Nelson Cruz homers twice last night as the Twins beat the Royals 4-1 to take 3 of 4 in series. Twins open series with Milwaukee Brewers tonight, pregame at 6:30pm on Q92 WYRQ.
