NEWS
--A Holdingford man was hurt in a motorcycle crash near Pillager in Cass County Sunday. The Minnesota State Patrol says the incident happened at about 4:30pm, 68-year-old Robert Eggerth was going west on Highway 210 near Pillager when a deer crossed the road. Eggerth was treated a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

--Three people, including two St. Cloud residents, were hurt in a crash at a Highway 10 interchange Sunday afternoon. The crash happened at the intersection of South Benton Drive, the Highway 10 westbound on-ramp, and the Highway 10 westbound off-ramp in Sauk Rapids just before 3pm. The Minnesota State Patrol says a car and an SUV collided in the intersection. The driver of the car, 41-year-old Ahmed Abdi Hussein of St. Cloud, was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. His passenger, 46-year-old Salat Mohamed Hassan of St. Cloud, was not hurt. Two passengers in the SUV, 60-year-old Mary Coleman of Michigan City, Indiana, and 56-year-old Sharon Patton of St. Cloud, also suffered non-life-threatening injuries but did not go to the hospital. The driver of the SUV, 15-year-old Brooklynn Hughes of St. Cloud, was not hurt.

--A Freeport teenager was hurt in a rollover crash Sunday morning. The incident happened around 8:50am on County Road 33 south of St. Martin. The Minnesota State Patrol says 17-year-old Trevor Blonigen was driving a car north on County Road 33 near County Road 32 when the vehicle left the road, entered the ditch, and rolled. Blonigen was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

--A Marshall woman died after an SUV and a semi-truck collided in Kandiyohi County Saturday evening. The Minnesota State Patrol says the two vehicles collided in the intersection of Highway 40 and 45th Street Southwest near Willmar. A passenger in the SUV, 51-year-old Bu Ko, was taken to a Willmar hospital where she later died. A second passenger, The driver of the SUV, 64-year-old Ku Paw of Marshall, and the driver, 27-year-old Kyan Day of Marshall, both received non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash. The driver of the semi from Florida was not hurt.

--Two people were hurt in a crash in Clearwater Saturday afternoon. The Minnesota State Patrol says around 5pm a car and a minivan collided at the intersection of Highway 24 and Highway 145. The driver of the car, 27-year-old Taylor Pitts of Monticello, and the driver of the van, 73-year-old Eileen Aldrich-Langbehn of Clearwater, were both taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

--The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for roughly the southern third of Minnesota as an intense heat wave will be going through Thursday night of this week. Morrison County and surrounding counties were put in a Heat Advisory today starting at 11am and lasting until 10pm Wednesday night. The air temperatures will be in the low 90s with higher humidity moving the heat index values up into the 100s and in southern Minnesota into the 110 degree category. Those who do not handle and very warm and humid conditions should be aware of heat stroke and heat exhaustion symptoms that the Sheriff's Office has posted on their social media sites. The extreme heat is not just in Minnesota this week has heat advisories and warnings are also issued for all of Iowa, South Dakota, Missouri, Illinois, all of Arkansas, and Louisiana, and the eastern parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska.

--A reminder from Morrison County Health and Human Services that their meeting is tonight from 4:30-6pm to discuss the funds from the Minnesota Opioids State-Subdivision Memorandum of Agreement to Morrison County. As a condition of the MOA, Morrison County must hold an annual, public meeting with municipalities and community to consult on the county’s future use of the settlement funds. The meeting is intended for the public to provide input on proposed uses of the Opioid Settlement Funds, and to encourage collaboration between local governments both within and beyond our county. The meeting tonight is at the Prairie Room at the Initiative Foundation, located at 405 First Street SE in Little Falls.

--Coborn's Inc. President and COO has announced his retirement. Dave Meyer will step down at the end of this year. Meyer joined Coborn's in 1985 as an evening shift manager in Mason City, Iowa.
He's held a variety of positions with the company throughout his career serving as a store manager, deli buyer and supervisor, district manager, vice president of operations, and more. Also, effective Monday, David Best will be joining the company as Chief Operating Officer and as a manager of the Coborn's Inc. Board of Directors.

--An Isle physical education and health teacher has been accused of sexually assaulting a former student as well as buying alcohol for other current and former students under the age of 21. 41-year-old Travis Turgeon was charged in Mille Lacs County District Court with felony fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct, gross misdemeanor fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct and gross misdemeanor purchasing or furnishing alcohol to someone under 21 years of age. The complaint stated that on June 1, Isle Police officers received information from a witness and the victim about a sexual assault that happened last October in Isle. According to the victim, when she was 18 she served as a designated driver for a group of adults, including Turgeon, who were visiting several bars in the Isle-Wahkon area. During that time the victim said Turgeon inappropriately touched her in an attempt to get her to sit in his lap, but she refused. Later that night while the victim was taking Turgeon and another party to Turgeon’s home, Turgeon started making obscene sexual comments, which the victim recorded on her phone. At Turgeon’s home, the other party went to sleep on a couch and Turgeon sexually assaulted the victim by kissing her and inappropriately touching her. Isle police also became aware of several current and former high school students who reported Turgeon provided them with alcohol while under the age of 21.

--The fundraiser for the Randall Fire Department is tonight at 6:30pm at Bingo Park in Randall, music by Soul Fun, there will be a free will donation for the event with all proceeds going to help the fire department in Randall. All are welcome.
