NEWS
--A Randall man faces multiple charges after fleeing police on an ATV Sunday. The Morrison County Sheriff's Office says just before 11pm authorities tried to make a traffic stop of an ATV on 1st Street in Randall. The driver, 46-year-old Jonathan Glessinger, fled from deputies into a yard off 230th Street. Authorities say Glessinger continued to drive through the yard and then made his way back on 230th Street before losing control and crashing the ATV. He was taken to St. Cloud Hospital by North Memorial Air Care with unknown injuries. Glessinger faces charges of driving after revocation, DWI test refusal and fleeing police. The case is still under investigation.

--Today at a location in St. Paul, the Minnesota National Guard celebrates the retirement of the first female general officer after she served more than 38 years for the organization. "My greatest accomplishment in my 38 years career is paving the way for all that follow and helping Airmen, Soldiers and civilian employees achieve their dreams,” said Air Force Brigadier General Sandy Best, the Minnesota National Guard’s Assistant Adjutant General. "Sandy is the first woman to be promoted to the rank of general in the Minnesota National Guard since its inception in 1856, yet she did not use this recognition to hinder service members; instead, she used her position to lift up the women and men in this organization,” said Army Maj. Gen. Shawn Manke, the Minnesota National Guard’s Adjutant General. Best is culminating her career serving as the assistant adjutant general, and even served as interim adjutant general in 2020 which was another first. Additionally, she served as the special assistant to the Chief of National Guard Bureau, advising and assisting leaders across the 54 states and territories in institutionalizing diversity and inclusion to attract, recruit, and retain a quality, inclusive, and equitable workforce that enabled National Guard formations to reflect the communities in which Guard members serve across the country. --A Wadena man was airlifted to the hospital after a semi-crash near Roscoe Monday morning. The incident happened just before 7:30am on County Road 16 near 263 Avenue in Zion Township. The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says 58-year-old Rodney Lillis was heading east on County Road 16 attempting to navigate a curve. Authorities say the semi appeared to drive onto the right shoulder, cross over the westbound lane and went into the north side ditch and rolled. Lillis was trapped inside and had to extricated from the cab. He was airlifted to St. Cloud hospital for his injuries.

--The Minnesota State Patrol a motorcycle accident at 2:51pm Monday in Wadena County. The motorcycle driven by a 64 year old from Sartell was southbound on 71 when a fawn came out of the ditch and collided with the cycle. No other information was released on the extent of injuries or the man's name at press time.

--The Friends of the Carnegie Library are preparing for their used book sale on which will be September 7th for members, September 8th through the 10th and then September 12th in Little Falls. However they could use books for their sale and asked to be dropped off at the library the sooner the better as they need to categorized the books for the sale. If you can drop off books please do that soon.

--The final Markets and Music on the Mississippi is Thursday with markets starting at 3pm at LeBourget Park. Farmer’s market, kids games, face painting, firetrucks and more to look at then at 6pm the music performed by Charlie Roth and the Range Wheelers.

--The Pierz Oktoberfest Committee announced a second medallion hunt beginning today. Thanks in part to donations from Thielen Meats of Pierz and Al Hoheisel the prize is now $400 in Pierz Bucks. The first clue will be released this morning on Little Falls Radio and also on the Pierz Oktoberfest website. Same rules apply for the hunt.

--Authorities are looking for the person involved in a bank robbery in Clearwater Monday afternoon. The incident happened at around 1:45pm at the American Heritage Bank after a man approached the counter and said he had a gun. He left with an undisclosed amount of cash. Authorities say the suspect fled the scene in a 4 door black car before police arrived. Surveillance video, employees and witnesses from the bank describe the suspect as a thin black man wearing all black clothing. Anyone with information about this incident or can identify the individual is asked to contact the Wright County Sheriff’s Office tip line 763-682-7733.

--The Minnesota State Fair opens Thursday east of St. Paul with many things to see and do, eat and drink and listen to from August 25th-September 5th. The night before Princess Kay of the Milky Way will be crowned in the bandshell. This year of the 10 candidates, four are representing Stearns County. They are Alex Christen of Sauk Centre, Hailey and Kallie Frericks (sisters) both from Albany and Briana Maus of Freeport. Sibley, Wabasha, McLeod, Murray and LeSeuer County are also represented and 2 are from McLeod County. The crowing again is tomorrow night before the State Fair opens on Thursday.

NATIONAL NEWS
--Dr. Anthony Fauci, who worked with infectious diseases and became a household name during the COVID-19 pandemic, announced Monday he will depart the federal government in December after more than five decades of service. Fauci, who serves as President Joe Biden's chief medical adviser, has been the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and chief of the NIAID Laboratory of Immunoregulation. He was a leader in the federal response to HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases before the coronavirus hit back in late 2019 leading to 2020 shut downs.

NFL= The Vikings have acquired quarterback Nick Mullins from the Raiders for a 7th round draft pick. Mullins began in 2017 with San Francisco and played also with Cleveland and Philadelphia.
