--Little Falls Firefighters were called out twice on Friday. The first incident was just after 2:00pm at the Little Falls Waste Plant at 900 Hilton Road on a report of a gas line that was struck by a construction crew. Upon arrival firefighters were told by employees they struck a gas line. They were able to crimp the line and minimize the release of gas until Center Point Energy arrived and monitored the air quality for around 45 minutes. There were no injuries. Then around 7:35pm Friday the Little Falls Fire Department was dispatched to 12806 Haven Road on a report of a house fire. Upon arrival they found light smoke coming from the residence. Firefighters located the fire in the laundry area and were able to extinguish it. The fire was mainly contained to that area with some heat and smoke damage in adjacent rooms. The fire is believed to have started near the clothes dryer, but the exact cause is under investigation. No injuries reported in that incident either.
