--The Little Falls Area Chamber of Commerce and Little Falls Convention and Visitors Bureau have officially merged as of last Wednesday at 11:30am. It is now going to be called the Little Falls Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism. Purva Watten was previously the president and CEO of the Little Falls Chamber of Commerce and is now the president and CEO of the Little Falls Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism. Sabrina Koelsch, previously the interim executive director for the Little Falls Convention and Visitors Bureau and will now be the tourism and marketing director for the Little Falls Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism. Koelsch said the reason for the merger was to create a one-stop shop for both Little Falls businesses and tourists, working to both invite new people to Little Falls and support the people and businesses that already live and work there. Watten and Koelsch said the merger would have no effect on how much Little Falls taxpayers pay, but the reduced costs resulting from the merger would result in them being able to use taxpayer dollars more efficiently. This will allow them to invest more in efforts such as marketing. They said the reduced costs are due to the two organizations now working in the same building, and there will be no reduction in staff as a result of the merger. Purva Watten will be the guest on KLTF Community Focus tomorrow at 8:30am live on AM960 KLTF and online at fallsradio.com.
