--Today is the March for Life in St. Paul. It was January 22nd, 1973 when the Roe vs. Wade Decision legalized abortions in the United States. Since then the Pro-Life movement has worked to get the law repealed marching in Washington DC like last Friday, and across the 50 states which includes on St. Paul today. A bus from Morrison County was heading down this morning to a service at the St. Paul Cathedral followed by the march to the capitol to meet with legislators. MCCL of Morrison County will have their 46th Annual Pro-Life Dinner this Sunday at the Falls Ballroom in Little Falls. For information on the dinner call Sue at 630-7045. --Another longtime college instructor has died. Joe Plut known as the “Mad Hugger” at Central Lakes College in Brainerd died January 17th in Crosby at age 82. Plut began teaching Creative Communications in 1965 at Central Lakes College in Brainerd (when it was Brainerd Community College) until his retirement in 2001. Plut also worked in the Twin Cities with community theater a few years after.
--The price of admission to the Great Minnesota Get-Together is going up this year. Regular gate admission for those 13-64 will be $15 beginning February 2nd. Children 5-12 and seniors 65 and over will pay $13. Children 4 and younger will get in free. The State Fair board of managers announced the hikes Sunday noting that they reflect rising costs in production, facilities, upkeep, public safety and other services. The board on Sunday also announced $16.3 million in capital work with $16 million of that earmarked for a new exhibit complex at the north end of the Fairgrounds and another $3.4 million for a host of maintenance projects. The north-end development is already under construction. The Minnesota State Fair this year is August 2nd through September 2nd (Labor Day) east of St. Paul.
--A number of local teachers are among this year's candidates for Minnesota's Teacher of the year. Brainerd Public Schools educator June Dahlgren was nominated for 2019 Minnesota Teacher of the Year. Other area teachers nominated for the honor include Mandy Gallant of Wadena-Deer Creek Public Schools, Katie Lieser of Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Public Schools and Briana Novak of Isle Public Schools, Chris Ann Johnson of St. Cloud's Apollo High School, Lynette Faber of ROCORI's John Clark Elementary, Shelby Chollett of Sauk Rapids-Rice Middle School, and Nancy Davis of Rice elementary. These candidates have accepted their nominations and completed the required materials to become eligible for the honor. The number of candidates this year is the third-most in the history of the award. There is a total of 168 candidates this year.
--The Upsala Upstage Players will perform a winter show, “The Butler Did It,” by Todd Wallinger, at the Upsala School Auditorium Friday through Sunday at the Upsala High School Auditorium. Performances will be Friday and Saturday at 7:30 with a Sunday matinee at 2pm. Guests are invited to see if they can figure it out before it’s too late. Tickets are available at the door.
--The American Red Cross Bloodmobile is today 1-7, tomorrow 12-6 and Thursday 8:30-2:30 at the St. Francis Convent in Little Falls. Sister Julien said today is pretty booked but call for an appointment for later today or the other two at 632-0663.

--The Minnesota Twins Winter Caravan is coming to Pierz Wednesday morning from 8:30-10:30am. Join Little Falls Radio as we welcome Twins manager Rocco Baldelli, players Jose Berrios and Eddie Rosario, radio announcer Kris Atterbury and the Twins mascot T.C. the Bear. The caravan will be at Horizon Health/ Select Therapy in Pierz in the large community room. This is a free event open to all. A free will donation will be accepted for some ball park treats and refreshments to be served.
--The Little Falls City Council meets tonight at 7:30 at City Hall while the Morrison County Commissioners meet this morning at 9am also at the Little Falls City Hall Council Chambers.
--A Sartell man has been arrested on suspicion of assault. The Sartell Police Department says just after 10:30pm on Saturday, a man went to the St. Cloud Emergency room with knife wounds reportedly from a fight in a Sartell home. He was treated for his injuries and his name has not been released. On Sunday morning the police carried out a search warrant at a home on the 500 block of 7th Street South in Sartell where they arrested 32-year old Wesley Callahan. He faces charges of 2nd-degree assault.
--The St. Francis Music Center will present an Honors Concert on Sunday in Sacred Heart Chapel at the St. Francis Convent in Little Falls. This concert will present 15 young students who have shown exceptional ability and commitment to their musical studies. All of the students performing have dedicated hundreds of hours to practice on their instrument. Performing in the concert will Myra Arvig, Claire Breitenfeldt, Ava Haggerty, Sarah Leisenheimer, Nicholas Mettler, Daylan Mick, Vera Miller, Erin Moede, Jaylene Newman, Isaac
Olson, Maddy Ploof, Celia Rustad, Bailey Stalmer, Marissa Throener, and Sam Zimmerman. These students represent the communities of Little Falls, Browerville, Burtrum, Royalton, Flensburg, Long
Prairie, Grey Eagle, Rice, Brainerd, Cushing and Swanville. This concert is free and open to the public at 2pm on Sunday.
