NEWS
--The Little Falls Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Legislative Update this Friday from 9 to 10:30am in the Council Chambers at Little Falls City Hall, 100 7 Ave NE, Little Falls. Senate Majority Leader Senator Paul Gazelka and Representative Ron Kresha will be on hand to preview the 2022 Legislative Session and hear from constituents on items of interest or concern for this legislative session. --Around 6:40pm on Saturday the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an accident involving a snowmobile that was pulling a sled on property located off 103rd Street, approximately seven miles southeast of Hillman in Mount Morris Township. According to the Sheriff’s Office, 54-year old Cathryn Dullinger of Hillman was driving a snowmobile on her property and pulling a sled occupied by 55-year-old Richard Dullinger of Hillman. The tow rope broke causing the sled to hit a tree. Richard Dullinger was transported to St. Cloud Hospital by North Ambulance with unknown injuries. The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the MLMB First Response Team and North Ambulance.

--Two people were hurt Monday morning around 11:04am in Villard Township near Motley in Todd County. 30-year-old Brian Bouressa of Randall was westbound on Highway 10 when his vehicle left the roadway on slippery roads and rolled in the median. Bouressa and his passenger 30-year-old Alysha Stachowski of Foley were both taken to the Staples Hospital for treatment of injuries.

--A St. Cloud man who took part in a St. Joseph armed robbery when he was 17-years old has run into trouble with the law again. 19-year old Tanner Crane has pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a gun. An aggravated robbery charge stemming from a January 2021 incident where he was accused of stealing a pair of expensive sneakers from two men has been dismissed. A drug charge alleging Crane was trying to sell Percocet pills also was dismissed. He pleaded guilty to a gun charge after Sartell Police discovered the weapon following a traffic crash. Court records show Crane was overdosing on a mixture of heroin, fentanyl, and methamphetamine last May when he crashed the car. Officers discovered the gun when it fell out of Crane's waistband. Crane is unable to have a gun after being convicted of a 2019 hold-up of a man fishing in St. Joseph. He was given a stayed sentence of nearly five years in prison. Now, the Stearns County Attorney's Office says Crane is expected to be given a 5-year prison sentence for the gun possession charge.

--A man has been arrested after a police chase in south St. Cloud. St. Cloud police say the incident began after 6pm Sunday. It ended near Sherburne County Roads 3 and 7 when the vehicle slid off the road. The driver was wanted for alleged domestic assault in Becker. He refused to get out of the vehicle and was suicidal. The incident ended at about 8pm when were able to arrest him with not using what authorities said was severe force. He was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with minor injuries and then transported to jail. No officers were hurt.

--Following the announcement from Bishop Kettler events like a Valentine's Dinner for the Sobieski church kitchen renovations to be held in Randall has been canceled in February. The Mardi Gras event February 25th in Randall- the event is canceled while the raffle drawing will still be held that night via live stream. The Sobieski quilt bingo with St. Ann's Mission was moved from February 13th until now the new date of March 27th. Continue to check with area churches on what they will be doing with events in the next 2-6 weeks.

--Little Falls Community Schools, Pierz, Royalton Swanville, Upsala, Long Prairie Grey Eagle and other schools around the state are starting two hours late this morning due to the extreme cold. Air temps are -20 to -30 in spots this morning though the winds have died down overnight the lightest of breeze moves wind chill factors into the -35 to -40 with the air temps this morning. Again schools in Morrison County are running 2 hours late today. A Wind Chill Warning in effect until 9am, then a wind chill advisory in effect through 6pm tonight and then another wind chill warning from 6pm tonight to 9am tomorrow morning then some snow moves in Wednesday night.

--Area schools including Little Falls and Upsala with others around the state are thanking their Paraprofessionals this week January 24-30th as Governor Tim Walz proclaimed this week Paraprofessional Recognition Week. There are more than 20,000 paraprofessionals around the state that are a major part of the settings at our are schools and are being recognized for time and needs when needed by the school district they serve and help them to excel at.

--A Milaca man was injured Monday morning at 9:51am near Princeton in Mille Lacs County. 36-year-old Adama Stuckey of Princeton was on Highway 169 near Highway 95 when the vehicle left the roadway and struck the guard rail. A second vehicle then struck the jeep and that vehicle driven by 29-year-old Isaiah Ronning of Milaca then rolled several times off the roadway. Stuckey was not hurt. Ronning was taken to the Princeton Hospital with non life threatening injuries. The Minnesota State Patrol stated that this was one of several accidents Monday morning with spin outs and slippery roadways causing a number of minor injuries or property damage accidents. Just a reminder to motorists, slow down on slippery roads.

SPORTS
NHL= Wild have won three in a row with back to back wins Friday and Saturday over Chicago including an overtime win on Saturday. Last night 8 different players scored as they beat Montreal 8-2.
NCAA= Kansas State's Ayoka Lee broke the NCAA Women's Basketball Division 1 single-game scoring record with 61 points which helped turn a 94-65 Sunday victory for her Wildcats to beat Oklahoma. Lee is 6'6 and tied for the second tallest player in program history. Before attending Kansas State her roots hail from Minnesota, where she was a major standout at Byron High School.
NFL= the Green Bay Packers officials said they want Aaron Rodgers back next year, Rodgers said he will decide his fate before free agency. Tom Brady said he will see what is best with his family before deciding if he will return to Tampa Bay next year. This weekend Cincinnati at Kansas City Sunday at 2pm for AFC Championship then San Francisco at Los Angeles Rams for NFC Championship at 5:30pm both games live on AM960 KLTF. Pro Bowl February 6pm 3pm at Las Vegas then Super Bowl February 13th at 5:30pm also on KLTF.
