NEWS
--On Monday morning the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a camper theft from Hilmerson RV and Marine Superstore located along Highway 10, south of Little Falls. According to the Sheriff’s Office, a tan/brown multi-colored 2018 Rockwood Travel Trailer bearing MN License RW25718, was stolen off Hilmerson’s RV lot. The travel trailer is 35 feet long and was taken on Sunday at approximately 11:00 pm and was last seen traveling east of Little Falls on Highway 27 towards Pierz. The suspect vehicle is a dark colored 4-door Chevy truck. Sheriff Larsen encourages residents to be on the lookout for this camper and the suspect vehicle and to contact the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office at (320) 632-9233 with any information regarding this theft. Also, if you see suspicious activity, especially after business hours, call the Sheriff’s Office immediately at (320) 632-9233. --At 8:01am Monday the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a flatbed trailer theft from Nilson’s Hardware & Rent It, located on DeGraff Avenue in Swanville. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the trailer is a 2018 TLTM flatbed utility trailer, model HCT7161S10, bearing MN License 6977CTL. The owner stated that a white spare tire is mounted on the front of the trailer. The trailer has ramps that store under the rear of the trailer and the passenger side tail light is bent inward. The trailer was taken some time between 1:00pm last Thursday and Saturday morning. The Sheriff’s Office encourages residents to be on the lookout and to contact their agency at (320) 632- 9233 with any information regarding this theft.

--A Puma travel trailer that was stolen from Hilmerson RV's lot south of Little Falls at 11:22pm Saturday has been located in Mille Lacs County. The vehicle and suspect(s) have not been located yet. The suspect vehicle had no license plates, but appears to be a 4 door Chevy Truck dark in color. Vehicle was northbound on highway 10, possibly seen near Lastrup around 12:30am Sunday morning, heading towards Onamia. Please call the Morrison County Sheriffs office if you have any information on this case. This case remains under investigation and remains active, at 320-632-9233.

--A statement Monday from Little Falls Community Schools Superintendent Stephen Jones “The COVID case rate numbers for Morrison County and LFCS are at their lowest points in nearly ten weeks, and we are hopeful that this trend will continue throughout the rest of December and into January. This gives us the confidence to be able to announce some exciting information about returning our students to school. Again as mentioned before, preschool and elementary students in the district will return to In-Person Learning on Monday, January 11. Middle School and High School students are slated to return to In-Person Learning on Tuesday, January 19. Should the data not support a return to In-Person for the secondary students, the district will instead begin back in a Hybrid model for Middle School and High School students on January 19. However, the preference is to bring secondary students back to school In-Person on January 19. Activities have been cleared to begin yesterda, Monday January 4th, our Activities Department continues to update the information concerning sports, fine arts, and academic extracurricular activities. --Morrison County Website on Monday reported 114 active cases of the COVID-19 virus after the New Years holiday. 170 total cases needed hospitalization. Recent numbers show Little Falls at 54 cases, Pierz at 15, Royalton at 12 and Swanville at 11 cases on Monday. State totals on Monday 3,148 new cases, 13 new deaths linked to the virus. Morrison County had 26 new cases on Monday's report.

--A Remer man was injured Saturday just after 2pm in a one-vehicle accident in Cass County. 54-year-old Todd Keating of Remer was on Highway 6 in Crooked Lake Township when his vehicle left the roadway, struck a guardrail and then a tree. Keating was taken to the hospital in Crosby with reportedly non life threatening injuries.

--An Onamia man was injured Saturday just before noon in a two vehicle accident in Mille Lacs County. 67-year-old Michael Troha of Onamia was on Highway 169 near Timber Trails Road in Kathio Township when he crossed the center-line and struck a semi-truck driven by 61-year-old John Clarin of Princeton. Troha was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital with reportedly serious but non-life threatening injuries in the accident. Clarin the semi driver was not hurt.

--Winter load increases began yesterday at 12:01am on unrestricted state highways in the central frost zone, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Frost zones can be found on the MnDOT load limits map.

--One person suffered burns to the hand following an apartment fire in St. Cloud Friday afternoon. All units responded to the structure fire at 835 Driftwood Dr. around 1:14pm Friday. Fire was coming from two windows on the front of the building, according to the report, but crews extinguished the fire quickly. The fire was contained to one unit. Smoke damage extended to five other units. The cause of the fire was a person melting wax on the stove and the damage is estimated to cost $100,000.

--Sister Julien Dierkes on KLTF Monday stated that today's appointments for the blood drive at First United Church are pretty filled up but tomorrow from 10:45-2:30pm still had open spaces so please call and help give blood at 632-0663, again no walk ins for the blood drive due to restrictions, so appointments must be made.
