NEWS

--The City of Little Falls announced there will be a temporary road closure on today on 1st Street SE between 1st and 2nd Avenues in Little Falls to repair a sewer line. Drivers are asked to follow the detour.

--Randall Mayor Danny Noss was on KLTF Monday and addressed the latest in Randall from the recent flood. The water continues to go down, all the main streets that were covered with water are now open but still have some evaluations being done on the safety of the roads. Mn Dot reported just before 11am that all lanes of Highway 10 has reopened to traffic but reminds motorists to watch for areas where barricades are still placed and there still some reports of debris on the roadways. Thirty houses had water damage mostly in the basements and the families were able to return home by end of the weekend. There were about 5 or 6 houses with more damage and houses there might not be livable without major renovations which were closest to the river. Some businesses had flood damage with OK Tire and Bait had some major damage around the building but not the building itself. Noss wanted to thank all the work that was done the past few days from sandbagging, evacuations, shelters, command center and others in the area. Noss said now we need to back to some normalcy and the hope is that will happen on Saturday. The medallion hunt was delayed this year until the water recedes, Noss said they are planning on the medallion hunt later this year, stay tuned for details. All other events this Saturday are still on, the parade is set for 11am, with food and music all afternoon, and a street dance at night is still planned for Randall on Saturday and all are welcome to come and be part of the events. --The Morrison County Sheriff's Office stated that the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Workers will be in Randall today. The workers will be at Dr. S.G. Knight Elementary School from 3-7pm to connect with individuals and families to discuss current and anticipated needs caused by the recent flooding. They will also provide services, help with recovery planning and connecting to people additional community resources. Clean up kits will also be available. Salvation Army teams will also be on site today to help with clean up kits. The sheriff said if you cannot meet with the Red Cross today and want to contact them for assistance call their hot line at 844-292-7677.

--The Morrison County Commissioners have called an emergency meeting this morning at 8:15am at the courthouse to declare a state of emergency following last weeks flooding.

--The Falls Ballroom announced they will be hosting a Randall Area Flood Relief Fundraiser in the Falls Ballroom Parking Lot on Thursday from 11am-6pm, serving hot dogs, chips, pop and water for a free will donation with all proceeds going to the Randall area.

--Two people were hurt in an accident last Saturday at 12:55pm on Highway 210 in Hewitt of Todd County. 49-year-old Ernest Olenek of Parkers Prairie was on his Harley Davidson motorcycle we attempted to turn on Todd County Road 68 and struck an oncoming vehicle driven by 28-year-old Cody Olson of Bertha. Both were taken to hospitals and treated for non life threatening injuries.

--Congratulations to all the winners Sunday at the Sobieski Church Festival including Don Kaiser who won the $500 grand raffle top prize and the quilt raffle winner was Amy Kerfeld. Thanks again to all helped in raising funds for the renovated basement at the church.

--Morrison County Administrator Matt LeBlanc also joined KLTF Monday. LeBlanc has been serving as the administrator for the past 7 months. LeBLanc did state the County Emergency Management will assess from the recent damage from flooding in Randall and the surrounding area last week and discuss what grounds can be taken. They already sent out disaster declaration from the May 12th storms that went through causing significant damage to parts of the county. LeBlanc talked road projects as the city and state have many projects, public works on an average has about 9 million dollars on projects but this year that is at 15-million dollars but with the shortage of supplies and materials it could be 2023 for some projects. LeBlanc addressed the project to work on the courthouse design phase, fiber optics in the landfill, enhanced cybersecurity and the help on the riverbank erosion at the Historical Society of Morrison County on the west side of Little Falls. --The St. Michael man shot by authorities following a day-long standoff is now facing multiple felonies in Wright County, including attempted murder, assault and drug charges. The standoff, which court documents say started around 4:30pm June 21st began after 39-year-old Brandon Gardas refused to leave his home on the 500 block of Central Avenue West in St. Michael. The standoff ended around 8:30pm the next night when officers entered the home and had to shoot Gardas in the upper chest after he refused arrest. Gardas is charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder of a peace officer, two counts of first-degree assault using deadly force, possession of a firearm after being convicted of a crime, second-degree drug possession, fifth-degree drug possession and making violent threats. Inside the house, officials recovered an arsenal of weapons, including three AK-47s, three AR-15s, multiple handguns, more than 12,400 rounds of various caliber ammunition and ballistic gear, the complaint said. Officers also found more than 320 grams of plant cannabis, 26.2 grams of cannabis wax and more than 70 grams of psilocybin mushrooms. A judge issued $5 million bail or bond with conditions, including no use/possession of firearms or weapons. The judge issued $10 million bail or bond with no conditions. The county has not specified his next court appearance.

TWINS= Twins whip the Guardians last night 11-1 in Cleveland. The Twins will play two games today, a makeup game first with pregame at 11:30am then a second game at 5:30pm today at Cleveland against the Guardians on Q92 WYRQ.
TWINS= For the first time since Target Field opened, the Minnesota Twins are hosting a post-game concert. On August 4th, about 15 minutes following the Twins' game against the Toronto Blue Jays, Cole Swindell will play a full set for the stadium's first post-game concert. Admission to the concert is free with a ticket to the game.
