--Little Falls City Administrator Jon Radermacher spoke on KLTF yesterday and recently spoke with Public Works Director/City Engineer Greg Kimman on road projects. The Third Street Project is moving along and hoped to be paved and completed by end of the month and early November. The Oak Drive and Crestview projects will be paved around the same time, on 6th Street, crack sealing and micro surfacing is planning to be done this week, a grant project from Safe Routes to Schools is 9th Street and Pine Avenue is going well and should be fully completed by 2 weeks. Radermacher said unfortunately the large project on 11th Street by Coborn's Marketplace has experienced some delays due to materials and supply chains not getting items to the city, which is happening globally and and not just locally so the project is slower than expected but the hopes is to have the project done before winter but will take longer than first expected. Radermacher asked that residents, motorists and others to please try and stay of the work zone areas, follow the signage and use patience around the areas as the less traffic flow in road work areas means faster progress to get the work done and get the city back to normal traffic flow. Radermacher mentioned at Our Town 56345 is back again after being on hold last year due to the pandemic and a strategic priority list has been put together to ask and show what is needed and what can made the 56345 zip code the best it can be. --A 29-year-old Brainerd man has been charged with murder in Crow Wing County District Court for the shooting death of a woman last Thursday at Cozy Bay Resort on Lake Edward north of Merrifield. Cameron Jay Moser was charged Monday in Crow Wing County District Court with felony second-degree murder with intent but not premeditation in connection with the shooting death of Bethany Anne Bernatsky at the resort. It was not clear from the criminal complaint filed against Moser whether he and Bernatsky knew each other or what the motive was for the shooting. Responding law enforcement located the suspect, later identified as Moser, at 11:22pm around 20 minutes after the call of gunshots came in where he was carrying a rifle and also in possession of a handgun. Officers talked with Moser for the next 90 minutes before he was surrendered and was taken into custody. An investigator approached the front door of the cabin where the shooting took place and saw the interior entry door to be open, allowing him to see inside. The investigator saw a woman lying at the end of a hallway with a large pool of blood under her head. He also saw two bullet holes in a second entry door that opened up onto a deck. The medical examiner’s provisional report determined the manner of death to be a homicide and the cause of death to be multiple gunshot wounds, including one to her head.
