NEWS
--The funeral for longtime KLTF Personality and Salesman Jack Peck is today at 11am at Bethel Lutheran Church. The Little Falls Radio family wants to give condolences to the family of Jack Peck who was part of the KLTF family from 1959-1991 and continued to work with the radio station on commercials and events locally and through the state for many years.

--The Morrison County Sheriff's Office reported that they are asking Swanville residents to please check your outdoor security surveillance cameras in the early morning hours of September 30th, possibly between 4am-8am. Our office has a few reports of a male subject going through vehicles. All vehicles were unlocked at the time. The subject was possibly wearing a red hoodie and camo pants. We are looking to get a good picture of his face to compare to a suspect already in custody for an outstanding warrant, who was arrested this morning. Special attention to anyone with outdoor surveillance on Berkey Avenue and Degraff street. Please lock your vehicles and make sure that any valuables are out of sight. --On October 1st, Brainerd police department reported a burglary in progress at the 1400 block of Mary Street in Brainerd. Officers learned the suspect had entered the home through a basement window. The residents were home and noticed the suspect in their basement as he was fleeing the scene. Investigators say that the suspect was seen doing other suspicious activities in the general area and may have gained access to to other residences and one case broke into a garage. A photograph was obtained from a surveillance camera at one residence in question, the while male, 20-30 years old, short beard and glasses has been posted on the Brainerd Police Department Facebook page. Residents are asked to keep doors and windows locked at night and report suspicious activity to police.

--A pedestrian was taken to the hospital after being struck by a car. The Minnesota State Patrol says the incident happened at about 10:20pm Sunday in Monticello. A car driven by 85-year-old Ronald Begin of Monticello was going east on 7th Street West attempting to turn northbound onto Highway 25 when he hit the walker. Thirty-eight-year-old Nicole Walters of Shakopee was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

--Two people were injured in a Sunday morning crash at the intersection of Highway 25 and Thiesse Road near Brainerd. The two vehicle crash was reported just before 11am. A 2018 Honda, driven by Tucker Scott Willard, age 24, of Brainerd, was traveling north on Highway 25. Willard was attempting to turn west onto Thiesse Road. A 2021 Ford F-150 truck was traveling south on Highway 25 in the same area. The Honda crossed the southbound lanes and was struck by the Ford, the Minnesota State Patrol reported. The driver of the Ford, Tarja Marianne Setala, 64, and her passenger, Gary Philip Setala, 66, both of Andover, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd. Willard was not injured.

--Authorities have identified the man whose body was found in a Target store bathroom last week. The Wright County Sheriff’s Office says on September 27th, another customer found 43-year-old John Zechmeister of Robbinsdale unresponsive in the restroom around 11am at the Otsego location. There was no threat to the public. The Medical Examiner has not released the exact cause of death.

--Swanville Schools held coronation on Sunday night. Congratulations to Karley Loven crowned Queen and Carter Natvig crowned King. The game is Friday in Upsala for the USA Patriots vs KMS at 2pm on Q92.

--Royalton held coronation also on Sunday and their King and Queen are Claire Prokott crowned Queen and Ryan Vannurden crowned King. Royalton have a homecoming parade on Friday at 5:30pm then tailgating before the game with food and fun and the then game at 7pm against St. Cloud Cathedral. Superintendent Dr. Kristine Wehrkamp is inviting all alumni from Royalton to come and root on the 2023 Royals Friday night for Homecoming.

--USDA Rural Development is accepting applications for very low- and low-income individuals and families seeking to purchase or repair a home in a rural area. The Direct Home Loan program offers financing to qualified very-low and low-income applicants that are unable to qualify for traditional financing. No down payment is required, and the interest rate could be as low as one percent with a subsidy. Applicants must meet income and credit guidelines and demonstrate repayment ability. The program is available in rural communities of generally 35,000 people or less. The maximum loan amount is $40,000 at a one percent interest rate, repayable for a 20-year term and can be used to improve or modernize homes and do essential repairs. --A busy afternoon of accidents on Minnesota roadways Monday, one person was injured in Sherburne County, two people including an 18 year old from Milaca was injured in a two-vehicle in Mille Lacs County, a 62-year-old from Pillager had minor injuries in an accident in Sylvan Township of Cass County and other accidents reported all in a string between 11am and 4pm on Monday. Motorists are reminding to watch for pedestrians and slower moving traffic during the day and school buses coming and going to school. Also tomorrow is bike and walk to school day, many schools are encouraging weather permitting for students and faculty if possible to bike and walk to school during the day, this helps with Safe Routes to School funding that can be given to area schools. Watch for bikers and walkers on Wednesday.

The Wild Card round is the best of three. Top teams Baltimore, Houston, Atlanta and LA Dodgers got byes into the Divisional Series that begin on Saturday. NFL= Vikings host KC Chiefs on Sunday at 3:25pm.
