NEWS
--The Little Falls Fire Department was called out at 6:53am Tuesday morning to Crane Meadows Wildlife Preserve at 19502 Iris Road on a report of smoke coming from the attic of a building. Firefighters arrived on scene a short time later and found light smoke coming from the attic of the office building. Firefighters located the area with heat and had to cut a hole in the ceiling to access the smoldering fire. There was minimal damage where the fire was smoldering in the insulation. The cause of the fire is believed to be due to an electrical issue. Firefighters cleared scene by 7:51am. Also the fire department wanted to advise the public that last night between 4-8pm, the Little Falls Fire Department will be doing water rescue training on the Mississippi river off 1st Street NE. It was only a training exercise.

--Due to an accident on US Highway 10 Tuesday morning Dr. Knight Elementary school was without power Tuesday and the students were moved to St. James Church in Randall. The school wanted to thank the public, parents and others who worked to get the word out quickly for students to be picked up at the church.

--The Norwegian Home Guard appeared on KLTF Party Line yesterday and spoke about their training at Camp Ripley which is different than in Norway due to the many simulators and technology items that use on a regular basis. They brought 108 members of the Home Guard to Little Falls and around 101 were sent to Norway to train. In Norway the American National Guard members are training and living in snowcaves above the Arctic Circle in the north edge of Norway along with learning use of skis, sleds and other item used by the Home Guard for their native land. The Home Guard held a large meal of celebration recently with chefs from Norway showing their native foods of fishes, cheeses and chocolate. The Home Guard is already preparing for the 50th Anniversary of the Norwegian Exchange (Norex) next year February 2nd- 16th between Camp Ripley, The Twin Cities Metro Area, Washington DC and Norway inviting many dignitaries past and present members of the exchange and others to celebrate the longest exchange style military exchange program between two separate nations in the world.

--Six candidates will interview for superintendent of Brainerd Public Schools this week. The Brainerd School Board approved the six applicants during a special meeting Monday as recommended by consultants from School Exec Connect. Karsten Anderson, Jharrett Bryantt, Heidi Hahn, Frank Herman, Eric Schneider and Ronald Wagner are the top six from a slate of 17 who applied for the job. Of the applicants, 14 were men and three were women. Thirteen were from Minnesota, while two were from Texas and one each from Illinois and Iowa. Seven were currently superintendents, while three were assistant superintendents, two were principals, one an executive officer, one an executive director, one a CEO and one a tire and battery technician with previous superintendent experience. Following the interview process the numbers will be lowered for a second round of interviews with a new superintendent expected to be selected by the end of the month.

--Slushy and slippery roads made for many accidents Tuesday including a two-vehicle accident on Highway 169 in Mille Lacs County. A 16-year-old girl reportedly slid through a stop sign at 11:23am at the intersection and struck a pickup driven by 91-year-old Frederick Fure of Princeton. Fure was treated at the Onamia Hospital for his injuries. The 16-year-old driver, name not released was not hurt.

--The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office reported late last night that they found the 13-year-old girl reported missing on Tuesday. Yesterday, they were asking the public for their assistance in locating 13-year-old Megan Kloss. Kloss who had gone missing on April 4th and left a note advising not to worry about her. Again the sheriff's office has posted that Kloss has been found safe.

--Due to the wet weather this week and forecast on Thursday, Jordan Hansel at State Farm Insurance informed Little Falls Radio that the Easter Egg Hunt that was scheduled for Thursday evening on the grounds of Linden-Hill will now be rescheduled for Saturday, April 9th at 10:30am and will be held at Maple Island Park with the 20,000 Easter Eggs for kids to come and grab. Hansel recommends that you come early as hundreds of kids will be grabbing the eggs fast now on Saturday at 10:30am and this will be held at Maple Island Park.

--Anthony Marchetti will be at the Charles A. Weyerhaeuser Memorial Museum to speak about his project, entitled “Good People: A Photographic Exploration of Morrison County,” on April 30, 2022, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The exhibit will be on display at the museum until December 31, 2022. This event is free, but registration is required. Call (320)632-4007 to register by April 29th. --Another accident reported Tuesday at 8:14am on Interstate 94 in Fergus Falls of Otter Tail County. 50-year-old Phillip Her was on the interstate when he slid off the road and into the ditch. Her was taken to an area hospital with non life threatening injuries.

SPORTS
TWINS= The Minnesota Twins home opener is scheduled for Thursday at Target Field though the weather is not being cooperative and the Teams officials are considering moving the game to Friday afternoon and should make that announcement before 2pm today. When the game is played listen to it on Q92 WYRQ.
GOLF= Tiger Woods stated Tuesday he plans on playing this weekend at the Master Golf Tournament. This would mark the first time Woods has played in a major since a car accident last year in February. He was not performed at a Major event in 19 months.
