NEWS
--The ROCORI school board has found their next high school principal. During Monday's school board meeting, the board approved entering a contract agreement with Ryan Hauge. Hauge is currently the Sartell-St. Stephen Activities Director, a position he's held since 2017. Prior to his stop in Sartell, Hauge worked in the St. Francis School District from 2004-2017. He served as a social studies teacher, professional development trainer and head basketball coach and golf coach. Hauge will replace Nate Guetter who resigned last month.

--Alcohol is believed to be a factor in an ATV crash Saturday near Litchfield. The incident happened just before 6:00 p.m. on County Road 16, west of Highway 22 in Harvey Township. The Meeker County Sheriff's Office says 34-year-old Ashley Johnson, of St. Joseph, was traveling on County Road 16 and as she approached the highway the ATV rolled. Johnson was taken to Meeker Memorial Hospital and later air lifted to St. Cloud Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The sheriff's office say two other ATV drivers, 39-year-old Richard Berg and 57-year-old Richard Kielty both of Watkins were with Johnson at the time of the crash.

--A Minnetonka man is jailed after a shooting incident in St. Cloud Sunday afternoon. Police were called to the intersection of 6th Street North and 10th Avenue North at about 3:15 p.m. Officers met with an 18-year-old man who said he had been shot at multiple times while driving through that intersection. None of the bullets hit the victim, but one round struck his vehicle. Police learned the victim and the shooter were acquaintances and the shooter had been following the victim through the neighborhood after a dispute with the victim's family earlier in the day. Police identified the suspect as 20-year-old Ca'Mari Smith of Minnetonka. Smith was arrested in Minnetonka at around 9:30 p.m. and was brought back to the Stearns County Jail on charges related to the shooting.

--Morrison County has a rich archaeological history, and this year the Morrison County Historical Society’s annual meeting will focus on that with its program “Morrison County Archaeology & the Douglas Birk Collection.” The program features guest speaker Rob Mann, Associate Professor of Anthropology at St. Cloud State University. He will be discussing his involvement with the Little Elk Heritage Preserve (LEHP) and the Doug Birk collection. LEHP is an archaeological site at the confluence of the Little Elk and Mississippi Rivers. MCHS’s annual program will take place on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at Bingo Park’s shelter, 109 E 6th Street in Randall, MN. Social hour starts at 6:00 PM. The program starts at 6:30 and will begin with MCHS’s annual meeting, during which the election of board members will take place. --The Minnesota State Fair begins tomorrow but the 68th Princess Kay of the Milky Way Coronation at the State Fair Band Shell is tonight starting at 8pm. Princess kay of the Milky Way Brenna Connelly of Byron will be passing the crown on to one of 10 county dairy princesses. The 68th Princess Kay of the Milky Way will spend her first day at the Minnesota State Fair in the cooler having her likeness carved out of a huge block of butter. Then the 9 other finalists will spend a day in the cooler having their likeness carved out of butter. The closest contestant is Jessica Ohmann, age 20 of Albany in Stearns County. Good luck to all contestants tonight for the title.

--Kris Vonberge for visitlittlefallsmn stated yesterday that the Markets and Music on the Mississippi is set for Thursday with markets at 3pm and music by the Levi Pelzer Band at 6pm. There will be plenty to see and do and admission is free of charge. The weather is calling for rain and there maybe a Plan B that might have to be worked out if the weather turns on Thursday. Vonberge said to continue to listen to Little Falls Radio tomorrow for the latest details on the event tomororw at LeBourget Park in Little Falls. Again all are welcome to come and see.

--The Long Prairie-Grey Eagle School District will hold a special election this November in an effort to renew one of its operating levies. The LPGE School District currently has two operating levies in effect. The first one is for $249.24 per pupil. This expires after this coming school year. The school will hold the special election on the general election day November 2nd at LPGE High School.

--Zion Lutheran Church in Little Falls will have their Chicks for Bricks event tonight 5-7pm at the church located at 411 Third Avenue Northeast in Little Falls. Enjoy a meal of chicken, ham, potatoes, stuffing, dessert and more. For the safety of those in attendence the meal will be served buffet style and the volunteers will do all the serving. Proceeds go the fellowship hall at the church and a $10 suggested donation is asked for the meal tonight at Zion Lutheran.

--Charlie Watts the dummer from the iconic band The Rolling Stones drummer has died Tuesday in England. He was 80.
--Tom T. Hall “the Story Teller” of Country Music with songs “I Like Beer” and “I Love” and wrote “Harper Valley PTA” has died. Hall died on August 20th at the age of 85 in Franklin, TN.
