--The Morrison County Sheriff's Office reported that Monday at 11:24pm, there was a one vehicle rollover on Great River Road south of 170th Avenue six miles northeast of Bowlus. 28-year-old Stephanie Sweeney of Foley was north on Great River Road lost control and rolled the vehicle causing Sweeney to get trapped inside the vehicle. Bowlus firefighters had to free her from it and she was then taken to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

--The Little Falls Police Department recently sent out that there has been a scam that has been reported in our community. A person is calling and requesting donations on behalf of the National Police and Troopers Association. Please be aware that the Little Falls Police Department has no affiliation with this organization. They remind those to never give out information over the phone or email if you are asked for personal information of any kind.

--A 14-year-old Brainerd boy was injured Friday after he was struck by a vehicle while riding his bike at Washington Street and 10th Avenue Northeast in Brainerd. The Brainerd Police Department responded to the crash, reported at 3:54pm and according to the report, the boy suffered significant injuries and was transported to CentraCare-St. Cloud Hospital. “He was struck by two vehicles while he was riding his bike home from a school appointment,” Tim Vice, the boy's father said “He was airlifted to St. Cloud and then transferred to Children's Hospital in Minneapolis. He has as of right now multiple broken bones in his back and multiple broken bones in his face as well as bruised lungs and severe road rash.” A go fund me page was set up for the family for those to help donate.

--Other new laws besides the cannabis law that that started on Tuesday include all private transfers of pistols and semiautomatic military-style assault weapons to be subject to background checks. Department of Corrections to develop a personalized rehabilitation plan for every inmate with at least a year left to serve their sentence. Reimbursing firefighters and emergency workers for purchasing soft body armor. Strengthening laws prohibiting surreptitious observation or photographing that invades a person's privacy and requiring landlords to disclose all non-optional fees in the lease agreement is included in the legislation. A new rule aims to make it more difficult to sell stolen catalytic converters to scrap metal dealers. The law prohibits the possession of a detached catalytic converter including scrap metal yards unless there were identifying markings on it. A new law that establishes worker safety requirements in warehouses and Minnesota bicyclists will be allowed to roll through stop signs as long as they do it with caution and skill. --One person was killed in a multiple-vehicle crash on Highway 169 in Sherburne County. The Minnesota State Patrol says the incident happened at about 12:10pm on Saturday near Princeton. A car driven by 67-year-old Timothy Keller of Cambridge was going south on the off ramp from Highway 169 when it left the road and crossed Rum River Drive striking another vehicle. Keller was dead at the scene. That vehicle then hit a pickup. The two people in the second vehicle, 38-year-old Stephanie Timmins and 11-year-old Leighton Timmins, were both taken to Fairview Northland Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the pickup was not hurt.

--Doug Luepke of Royalton Lions wanted to thank everyone who came to Platte River Day on Saturday. Their Grand Raffle winner of $5,000 is Patty Flahave and $2,500 is Tony Breth.

--The lack of rain and low amounts in many areas of less than 1 inch of rainfall for the entire month of July has made severe drought conditions continue to spread in the Brainerd lakes area. The U.S. Drought Monitor’s latest information now show all of Crow Wing, Mille Lacs and Morrison counties; most of Aitkin, Todd and Wadena counties; and southern Cass County listed in severe drought even though some areas had heavy rains from Brainerd to Lastrup yesterday many other areas like Little Falls did not have any measurable precipitation on Tuesday.

--A suspect is cooperating after a boating hit and run incident Friday, on Leech Lake in Cass County. The Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident, reported at 8:53pm near the Chase on the Lake and the City of Walker pier and docks. Multiple callers indicated a pontoon had struck a section of the dock causing significant damage to two large sections of the dock and damaging another pontoon which was tied to the dock and not occupied at the time. There were no injuries reported from the incident. On Saturday the sheriff’s office received an anonymous social media tip identifying the location of the operator and suspect of the pontoon. Law enforcement stated they interviewed the suspect about the incident.

--A Big Lake woman was hurt in a crash in Paynesville Saturday afternoon. The incident happened around 12:20pm on Highway 55. The Minnesota State Patrol says a car was going east on Highway 55 and a pickup truck was going west. The driver of the car, 22-year-old Meikiina Hillukka, was taken to Paynesville Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Her passenger, and the driver and passenger in the truck both from Eden Valley were also not hurt.

--Two horses in Kandiyohi County have been infected with West Nile Virus. One of the horses died and the other is recovering. The one-year-old quarter horse colt was unvaccinated and died from complications related to the disease. The other horse is a 21-year-old mare who recently received a West Nile virus booster dose prior to its infection and is recovering. The detections are from separate farms and the virus appears to be circulating in mosquitoes in the county. The virus circulates between infected birds and mosquitoes and once infected the mosquitoes can transmit the virus.

--The St. Francis Convent Green Fair is tonight for the first time since back in 2019. From 4-7pm vendors, food, live music, horse drawn carriage rides around the Convent grounds and more tonight, join in the fun at the Green Fair at the St. Francis Convent in Little Falls.

--The Little Falls Summer Musical is being performed by the Little Falls Theater Company and this year it is the Sound of Music. Performances are Thursday-Saturday this week at 7pm at the Little Falls High School and then the following week August 11h and 12th at 7pm and then a matinee Sunday, August 13th at 2pm. Tickets can be purchased through lftheatre.org or at the door each of the nights.
