--The Morrison County Sheriff's Office stated yesterday that they have received numerous inquiries on how people can help Deputy Brady Pundsack and his family. The family has set up a Go Fund Me page. The sheriff's office is very grateful for the outpouring support that their agency and his family is receiving since this incident occurred. --Board members of the Crow Wing County Fair were on KLTF yesterday as the fair in Brainerd is August 1st through the 5th. They have created some more items this year to help those relax more at the fair and enjoy story time for the younger kids. They will have the food, rides, live music including Tracy Byrd on Wednesday and Alex Miller on Thursday at the Grandstand, Rodeo on Tuesday, Baja Races on Friday and Saturday that week. Military Day is Tuesday with a special presentation to open the fair at 5pm. Senior Day is Wednesday, Ag Day on Thursday, Teen Day on Friday and Kids Day on Saturday with many events planned each of the days. --A St. Cloud man accused of stabbing another man at a Sauk Rapids apartment unit has pleaded guilty to an amended charge. The victim suffered life-threatening injuries after 22-year-old Demaun Ford stabbed him in the back after an altercation. Ford has pleaded guilty to a felony charge of 3rd-degree assault causing substantial bodily harm. In exchange, three counts of 1st-degree burglary and two counts of 1st-degree assault will be dismissed at sentencing. Sauk Rapids Police responded to the 1200 block of 2nd Avenue North in February 2022 and found a man lying on the floor in a pool of blood. The man was pale and was having difficulty breathing. Benton County Court records show Ford is an ex-boyfriend to a woman who was now seeing the victim and he was fighting with the victim as he held the child with his ex-girl friend. The woman said the man stabbed at Ford to get him to back off and then Ford stabbed the victim in the back and left the scene. The victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment of a single stab wound.

--The Brainerd Fire Department responded to a house fire Monday on the 13000 block of Ironwood Drive off of County Road 25 in Oak Lawn Township. The call at 1:23pm said that a garage was on fire and when firefighters arrived the garage had burned and the fire was working its way into the house. Finding the homeowner on the back porch, who had alerted others around the house to the fire and they were able to get her to safety before the fire spread. The homeowner was transported by North Memorial Health Ambulance to Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center with unknown injuries, Fire Chief Tim Holmes said they had to bring in 4,000 gallons of water to fight the fire. But the house did sustain extensive damage and ruled unlivable at this time by the fire department. The State Fire Marshall is investigating the cause of the fire.

--A transformer blew causing an electrical pole to start on fire on Monday night. The explosion and fire resulted in a power outage for a number of residents in the St. Cloud metro area. There was also a gasoline leak from a backup generator that the department responded to as well. The incident began at 5:30pm and Xcel Energy said nearly 3,300 of its customers were without power for 2+ hours.

--The 9th Annual Disabled American Veterans Chapter 12 Motorcycle and Classic Car event is on Saturday. All the proceeds go to help disabled Veterans in need throughout Morrison and parts of Todd and Cass County. All are welcome to meet at the Little Falls VFW at 10am for registration then ride to Little Sauk American Legion Club and then Stone Hill Bar and Grill near Randall before returning to the VFW for a free meal and live auction of items. Also the DAV has their annual picnic on August 9th at the Swanville Lions Park Building starting at 5pm social and a meal to be served shortly thereafter. This is for any member of the DAV, their families or any individuals that have been given a VA medical card. The Swanville Lions Club has graciously offered to provide the food and beverages. Also the DAV continues to have their free clothing pickup on Friday mornings now through September at 609 4th Avenue Northeast in Little Falls. The hours on Friday are 9am-12pm. --Two children were airlifted to a hospital after an ATV crash in central Minnesota Monday afternoon. The crash occurred around 1:15pm in on the 5000 block of 97th Avenue Northeast in Green Lake Township, near Spicer, according to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office. Two boys aged 14 and 11 were on an ATV on a gravel driveway when they lost control and hit a tree, the sheriff's office said. Both were flown to Children's Hospital in Minneapolis. The sheriff's office said the extent of their injuries is unknown.

--“The Wall That Heals” arrives in Monticello today. “The Wall That Heals” is a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. that tours the nation. In addition, a mobile education center gives more information on the Vietnam era and a digital photo display of Monticello’s “Hometown Heroes”, along with a display of other Monticello veterans who served in the Vietnam War, returned home, and later died. The wall’s appearance in Monticello is due in part to the contributions of the Monticello American Legion Post 260 and the Monticello VFW Post 8731. The opening ceremonies are Thursday at 10am at Pinewood Elementary School in Monticello. Once opened, the wall will be available for public viewing 24 hours a day through Sunday at 2pm.

--The Benton County Board of Commissioners have approved a special road closure for the Gilman Co-op Creamery's 100 year celebration. The co-op is planning a partial closure of 115th Street Northeast of County Highway 5 from 4pm on Friday, August 18th to 2am on Saturday August 19th.
