--The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office has received three separate theft reports this year from the Knife River business gravel pit, located on 273rd Street, approximately 11 miles north of Little Falls in Ripley Township. According to the Sheriff’s Office, two of the most recent thefts were in July of this year with the most recent reported on 7-18-2022. On Monday it was reported that a work trailer at the gravel pit was broken into and multiple tools were stolen. The theft is believed to have occurred sometime between 5:00pm on Friday July 15th and 6:30am on Monday July 18th. The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for their assistance if they have witnessed any suspicious activity in or near the gravel pit area. Sheriff Larsen stated, “Our office relies heavily on tips from the public, so we can ensure that these people that are out victimizing others can be held accountable. Just like with any suspicious activity, try to get a description of the person and/or vehicle to include a license plate number, without putting yourself in harms way. Many investigations are solved with the communities’ help, which is greatly appreciated by our office.” If you have information regarding these thefts, you are asked to call the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office at 320-632-9233.

--A driver from Kansas City, Missouri died after rolling his semi in Crow Wing County. At 4:41am Monday Walter Hicks was traveling north on Highway 371 south of College Road when he ran off the road to the right and rolled his semi. Hicks was wearing his seat belt and alcohol was not a factor.

--The Brainerd Police Department asked for public assistance after a string of vandalism at Brainerd’s public parks the past few weeks. Deputy Police Chief John Davis said the damage was not specific to any one park and has occurred during both daytime hours and overnight. “Some of the damage we've been seeing is broken basketball backboards,” Davis said. “We had pickleball nets that were damaged. A lot of vandalism is occurring inside the bathrooms, even an attempt to set fires within the bathrooms.” The department asked neighbors and visitors to keep an eye out for anything suspicious, including groups of juveniles congregating at parks. Vandalism in the park has been sporadic but brazen as some of the crimes have occurred with others in the park at the time. They are asking the public to call in suspicious activity to the police department or if they have information on these vandalism cases to help police in an arrest.

The medallion is hidden on public property only and the only place to get the clues next week is Randall City Hall, Boone's Market and Bermel's Shoes all in Randall to get the clue and try and find the medallion.
