--Tomorrow is Thanksgiving a federal and national holiday on the fourth Thursday in November. All government agencies are closed Thursday and also on Friday including Little Falls City Hall and the Government Center. Most banks are closed Thursday and will reopen Friday, post offices will be closed on Thursday for Thanksgiving, no mail delivery but they will be back out again on Friday. Some businesses are closed today and reopen tomorrow with many having Black Friday and Small Business Saturday sales in the area. Some may open earlier for sales for Friday though with many going to Black Friday sales all months that has changed in recent years. Travel is expected to be on the rise today, tonight and into Thursday on the roadways to get to your Thanksgiving destination so expect some delays in congested areas if you have travel plans to get out for Thanksgiving plans and please remember to put safety first.
--The Minnesota State Patrol reported that extra law enforcement will be out tonight on Minnesota roadways, in previous years the night before Thanksgiving has become busy night of drinking and driving arrests around the state and leading to many accidents. In the past 5 years more arrests for DWI in Minnesota have happened on Thanksgiving eve and Thanksgiving Day compared to New Years Eve.
--The State Patrol released more information on a fatal accident on Monday at 7:23am on Highway 210 near the Brainerd Airport. 47-year-old Donald Want of Deerwood was on 210 when he slid on an icy patch and crossed into the other lane colliding head on with 67-year-old Pamela Beebe of Brainerd. The impact caused the vehicles to end up in the ditch and alongside the south fence of the airport east of Brainerd. Beebe was taken to Brainerd hospital but was pronounced dead. Want was take to the Brainerd hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries.
--Two people were hurt at 2:50pm Monday on Highway 23 in Stearns County. 45-year-old Amanda Jares of Long Prairie was westbound in Waite Park on 23 and struck a law enforcement SUV that turned off of 28th Avenue. The law enforcement vehicle did not have their emergency lights or sirens on. Jares and the officer Stephen Romstad, age 43 of Melrose were taken to St. Cloud Hospital with what the state patrol reported as non life threatening injuries.
--A man formerly of St. Cloud has pleaded guilty to raping a girl in the spring of 2021. Twenty-four-year-old Weston Williams has pleaded guilty to a felony count of 2nd-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a girl under the age of 13. He'll be sentenced in March. Authorities began investigating Williams last fall after the girl was interviewed at the Child Advocacy Center. The girl told authorities she and Williams were smoking marijuana together at a home in St. Cloud in May of 2021. The girl said she got very high and kept falling asleep. Court records show when she woke up, Williams was on top of her having intercourse. Police were later able to access Williams's Snapchat account and learned of conversations where he admitted to the girl he knew it was wrong and shouldn't have done what he did. The girl also said Williams would text her photos and videos that were sexual in nature. Williams was found living in Clearwater and arrested back in March. Williams is expected to be sentenced to at least nine years in prison after a plea deal.

--If you need a place to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal tomorrow, the Little Falls Area Ministerial Association will have a Thanksgiving meal at the Falls Ballroom from 11am-1pm Thursday free of charge, though donations are encouraged but not necessary. If you need a ride to the Ballroom or are unable to attend and want a meal delivered around Little Falls contact Tim Sumner today at 632-2540. Tim Sumner informed LF Radio yesterday that they have all the volunteers they need today and tomorrow and thank you for all who are helping and that the meal has been all paid for by donations from the public and others supporting the meal on Thanksgiving Day. Now they only need eaters so please come and enjoy tomorrow at the Falls Ballroom. Also there is a free Community Meal at the Word of Life Church in Upsala on Thursday starting at 11:30am, free of charge, all welcome. Also a number of Veterans Organizations (American Legion, VFW, DAV and others) are having free meals at their organizations or establishments, contact your local Veterans group for information and where free meals are being offered on Thanksgiving Day wanting to to have a happy holiday.
--The Turkey Trot is in Pierz tomorrow morning at the high school. Registration begins at 7:30am and the 5K run at 8am. Dress for the weather and take in the run tomorrow at Pierz Healy High School. Proceeds of the fundraiser go to boys and girls cross country program in Pierz, you can register the day off for $30 and be in the drawings for a number of door prizes and there will be refreshments offered.

--Game show and talk show host Chuck Woolery has died at age 83. Woolery was the original host of Wheel of Fortune back in 1975, then hosted the dating type show Love Connection 1983-1994, he hosted many game shows through 2007, then had a successful podcast over the past decade for a new generation of fans to listen into.
