NEWS
--There has been a change in the time for the Traffic Safety event in front of Morrison County Public Health on Thursday. The time will now be from 8am-12pm where members of traffic safety, law enforcement, public health and others will be on hand to discuss the recent hand free rules and other issues around traffic safety and items through public health. Again the time change is 8am-12pm on Thursday in front of public health at the Morrison County Government Center in Little Falls. All are welcome to attend.

--Morrison County Crews will be doing bridge maintenance on CSAH 20 near Fish Trap Lake, and CSAH 26 over the Mississippi River near Royalton. Flaggers will control traffic during the maintenance of the bridge. Crews will continue to mow county ditches this week. Public works will be patching potholes, and blading gravel roads around the county as weather permits. Please use caution around work crews.

--The Todd County Sheriff's Office reported that on Tuesday morning the Central MN Violent Offender Task Force, along with Morrison County SWAT Team executed a search warrant at 305 8th Street NE in Long Prairie. Taken into custody was 53-year old Darren Todd Holen on 3rd and 5th Degree possession of a controlled substance. Holen is being held at the Todd County Detention Center.

--The Todd County Sheriff's Office stated on Sunday September 22nd the Todd County Sheriff's Office responded to a farm accident in Round Prairie Township south of Long Prairie. It was reported that a five year old male from rural Long Prairie had been ran over by a skid-loader that was doing dirt work on the property. Deputies arrived and provided medical treatment until the Long Prairie Ambulance arrived. Ambulance personnel treated the victim at the scene until the victim was transported by Life-Link helicopter to Children's Hospital in Minneapolis. The victim sustained serious injuries as a result of the incident and his current condition is unknown. The incident remains under investigation by the Sheriff's Office.

--Stearns County reported a vehicle in the Sauk River Saturday morning around 5:30am. 34-year old Kimberly Dawn Hall of St. Cloud, was driving eastbound in the 7200 block of County Road 75 when she realized she was off the roadway. Hall saw a guardrail ahead of her and swerved to miss it. Hall’s vehicle came to rest on its roof in the ditch west of the Sauk River. Hall stated she closed her eyes for a brief second and believes she may have fallen asleep prior to going off the roadway. Hall was able to get out of the vehicle on her own, she was checked out by law enforcement and did not seek any medical treatment.

--A 20-year-old University of St. Thomas student has been charged with making bomb threats targeting the university's St. Paul campus. Ray Ghansham Persaud was arrested Tuesday morning and made his first court appearance Tuesday afternoon. A criminal complaint details the charges against Persaud, detailing how investigators have tied him to a series of bomb threats phoned in on three separate days. Federal prosecutors say on April 17, 2019 Persaud called operators at the university's St. Paul campus and said there was a bomb, specifically mentioning McNeely Hall. Persaud allegedly called the university three more times that morning, making the threats more specific each time. The threats led to the evacuation and closure of the entire St. Paul campus, including a child care center.

--Kids Day will be on Saturday from 9-11:30am at the Morrison County Fairgrounds. The event is totally free to all to attend.

--Cheers to Morrison County by the Morrison County Area Foundation will be Saturday from 2-6pm at Camp Ripley Hangar. The event is a fundraiser for the organization to give back to childrens' education with this year going to early childhood programs. Get your tickets VIP or general admission today by going to cheerstomc.org. There will be shuttle buses from Little Falls and Royalton to the event at Camp Ripley, you will need a photo ID if you drive into camp, and there are discounted prices for designated drivers at the event Saturday.

--A teacher in the St. Cloud Area School District has been put on paid administrative leave after an incident at one of the schools Tuesday. An official district statement says, "we were recently made aware of an incident occurring shortly before school dismissal. The incident is under investigation and the teacher involved is on paid administrative leave pending the conclusion of the investigation." The school where the incident happened and the teacher involved in the incident have not been released by school officials. District spokeswoman Tami DeLand says the investigation is very preliminary at this time but a video has surfaced on some social media showing a male teacher standing over a male student who was laying on the ground.

--The Crow Wing County Board of Commissioners approved the 2020 preliminary budget and levy despite the concerns and objections of Commissioner Paul Koering. “That preliminary budget and levy is used to send out the notice to property owners of the proposed property tax increases,” County Administrator Tim Houle explained. The board voted at its Tuesday meeting in favor of a 2020 preliminary budget of $93.89 million, and the preliminary levy is $39.31 million or a 6.95% increase from 2019. The county’s eight-year record of a reduced tax levy ended when the board approved the final 2019 budget and a levy increase of 6.99% at its December 2018 meeting. Again the levy/budget can be lowered but not raised prior to their taxation hearing scheduled in December.

TWINS= Eddie Rosario comes through with a big 2 run double in the 7th inning to help the Twins come out with a 4-2 win over Detroit last night. Cleveland routed White Sox 11-0 last night so the Twins magic number is now at 2. The Twins can win the division with a win tonight and an Indians loss in Chicago. The Twins at Detroit for game 2 of series starts with pregame at 5pm on Q92 WYRQ.
