Perfect Waffles

  • 2 cups flour

  • 4 teaspoons baking powder

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 1 ¾ cups milk

  • 2 egg yolks

  • 2 egg whites

  • 4 Tablespoons melted butter

Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Add egg yolks and milk and beat thoroughly. Add shortening, mix in beaten egg whites. Bake in hot waffle mold until brown. Serve hot with butter and maple syrup.
