A 19-year-old Brainerd woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash reported shortly after 8:00am Monday at the intersection of Wise and Beaver Dam Roads in Brainerd. Muriel West was northbound on Beaver Dam Road approaching the intersection. West’s vehicle pulled out onto Wise Road and collided with a vehicle driven by Karrie Young of Pierz heading eastbound on Wise Road. West was taken by ambulance to Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center, where she was in fair condition. Police said Young was injured, but she did not go to the hospital. Brainerd firefighters responded to the crash and had to extricate one patient from one of the vehicles.
