NEWS
--A Wind Chill Warning is in effect until 10am today with air temperatures of 20-below or colder, wind chills are between -25 and -40 in areas this morning. A wind chill advisory then continues from 10am today through noon Friday. Because of this numbers of schools are closed like Little Falls, Swanville and many others and others are delayed two hours this morning. Continue to get updates on weather related announcements today on all three Little Falls Radio stations.

--The Morrison County Sheriff's Office has received a couple complaints from the public regarding phone calls that they received where the scammer is pretending to be a law enforcement officer. One case in particular, the scammer advised the caller that he was an officer and that they missed jury duty. The other scammer stated he was a law enforcement officer and was asking for money to support law enforcement. The Sheriff's Office phone number displayed on the caller ID. Please be advised that no one from the Morrison County Law Enforcement Agency will call you and ask for money or your personal information. If you get calls like this the best thing to do is hang up. Unfortunately, since caller Id's can be manipulated by scammers, you can't always trust it is who the caller ID claims to be. If you ever get calls like this and are not convinced if it is a scam or not, one recommendation is to hang up and you call the correct number. If you are making the call you can trust you are talking to who you called. Little Falls Radio has received tips from other agencies in the past like the IRS, FBI, local Police Departments and others that they will never call you and also never ask for your personal information over the phone.

--A Little Falls man has been charged with felony third and fifth degree assault in Morrison County District Court. 23-year old David Ray Williams was charged from an incident from November 11th of last year of an assault at a home in Little Falls. Law enforcement met with the victim who reportedly had injuries to his face and rib pain. The victim allegedly said he was invited to a residence by a woman he met online, and when he arrived three men approached him. One male allegedly punched the victim in the face. Later officers reportedly found blood droplets at the scene of the incident. After confirming the identity of the defendant from a photo, law enforcement allegedly identified him as Williams. Williams has a criminal history of domestic assault from March of 2019, enhancing the current offense to a felony. If convicted, Williams could face up to five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.

--A St. Cloud man charged with robbing a 16-year old boy at knifepoint has pleaded guilty. 19-year old Zakarie Farah Hassan pleaded guilty to 1st-degree aggravated robbery just as his jury trial was about to begin. According to the complaint filed in Stearns County District Court, the boy was in River Bluffs Park last June when a car pulled up directly in front of him and Hassan got out and said the boy stole a cell phone from his friend. Hassan pushed the boy to the ground at which time a group of men got out of the back seat and allegedly began punching the teen. The men allegedly demanded the boy give up his cell phone but he refused.Records show Hassan then pulled out a knife and demanded the boy's belongings. The teen said he was robbed of his phone, his watch, and his earbuds. The boy told police he recognized Hassan as a summer school classmate. Hassan will be sentenced in May.

--The Little Falls City Council will meet Tuesday night due to President's Day on Monday at 7:30pm at Little Falls City Hall.

--On Monday the Todd County Sheriff's Office responded to Main Street and 3rd Avenue in Bertha for a hit and run motor vehicle accident. A black dodge Dakota parked on 3rd Avenue north of main street was struck causing extensive rear end damage. The owner of the truck believes the collision happened between the hours of 6-9pm. The suspect vehicle should have extensive front passenger side damage. Anyone with information on the hit and run accident is asked to contact the Todd County Sheriff's Office.

--Twin Cities Authorities reported Wednesday that a 16-year-old missing in Coon Rapids since last week has been found safe and returned to her family. KeLan Ciaciura left her High School last week Tuesday and has been found safe. Also yesterday Shoreview police reported that the man reported missing to them on Tuesday has been located safe. 52-year-old Steven Cavanaugh had gone hiking at some state parks but did not return home earlier this week. He also has been found safe by authorities.

--A Sauk Rapids squad car was involved in a crash while responding to a police chase involving a reported stolen vehicle. Chief Perry Beise said the crash happened at the intersection of Benton Drive and 2nd Street North on Saturday. Beise says the officer was responding with lights and sirens. No one was hurt in the crash. The Minnesota State Patrol is conducting the accident investigation. This incident happened on Saturday morning in Sauk Rapids. It was a separate stolen vehicle incident from the one that happened later that same day in the afternoon that was reported this week on the newsletter.

--A 20-year-old Foreston man was hurt in a crash on Highway 10 north of Sauk Rapids. The Minnesota State Patrol says it happened at about 6:30pm Tuesday near County Road 29 in Sauk Rapids Township. Hunter Beehler was driving north on Highway 10 when his car went off the road and struck a light pole. He was taken to St. Cloud Hospital for his injuries.

SPORTS
WRE= last night's scheduled wrestling match has been moved to Friday in Sauk Rapids between Little Falls and Brainerd as part of now a one day section tournament where Little Falls would need to win three times to advance state. Hear the matches live on Q92 WYRQ.
SKI= due to the very cold conditions today, the Little Falls boys nordic ski team will now compete on Friday at the State Tournament being held at Giant's Ridge in Biwabik.
DANCE= Good Luck to the Pierz Pizazz Dance Team this Saturday as they compete in the state tournament in Minneapolis.
HS BHK= Little Falls was seeded 3 in the Boys Hockey playoffs next Tuesday and will host Sartell in the opening round on Q92 WYRQ.
