NEWS
--On Thursday at 6:57pm the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a two-vehicle accident near the intersection of 330th Street and 70th Avenue, approximately eight miles northeast of Cushing in Scandia Valley Township. According to the Sheriff’s Office, 70-year old Ronald Headley of Cushing was traveling west on 330th Street in a Polaris Ranger side-by-side UTV as 29-year old Brandon Johnson of Cushing was also traveling west on 330th Street, behind Headley in a Chevrolet Tahoe. Headley attempted to make a left turn into his driveway and was rear-ended by Johnson. Headley’s UTV was pushed into the ditch and rolled. Headley was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital by Mayo Clinic Ambulance with unknown injuries. Johnson was not injured.

--The Morrison County Sheriff's Office reported that in the past week they have received burglary calls from a business on 160th Avenue in Little Falls and one on Haven Road. An auto theft reported on 138th Street in Little Falls and trailer plates stolen from a residential area of Highway 10 in Motley. A reminder if you noticed suspicious activity in your area contact the sheriff's office at 632-9233 to investigate.

--A Waite Park man accused of providing methamphetamine to two 14-year-old girls and sexually assaulting one of them has been convicted on one of the charges and acquitted on the other. A Stearns County jury has found 50-year-old Dale Lehman not guilty of felony 4th-degree criminal sexual conduct and guilty on a felony drug charge causing or permitting a child to take or be exposed to meth. According to the criminal complaint, Lehman went over to the girls' Waite Park home in September 2020 and asked them if they wanted to smoke marijuana with him. The girls went to Lehman's home nearby and were presented with a tray of methamphetamine. Court records show the girls ingested the drugs at Lehman's home and again when they went back to the girls' residence. The girls accused Lehman of going into a bedroom with one of them and running his hands up the girl's leg and over her private parts. The other girl told police she also witnessed the sexual contact. The jury found Lehman guilty on the drug charge but not guilty on the criminal sexual conduct charge. He'll be sentenced on November 17th.

--One person was injured early Saturday on Highway 18 in Crow Wing County. 33-year-old Thomas Hosch of White Bear Lake was on 18 in Bay Lake Township at 12:15am, left the roadway, drove into the ditch and struck an embankment. Hosch was taken to the hospital in Crosby with reported non life threatening injuries.

--It was reported last week that sheriff's investigators have located four children who were being sought over concerns about their welfare from Stearns County as they were thought to be with a man who was barred from seeing them and their mother under a no-contact order. A release from the Stearns County Sheriff's office says the children were found in St. Cloud Thursday, four days after investigators posted information on social media asking for help in finding them. Sheriff's officials said the kids spent the past few days in both North and South Dakota. Authorities were concerned for the children as they were thought to be with their parents, including a father who was under a no-contact order barring him from having contact with their mother. The man was arrested in August for being in violation of the no contact order. Authorities have not stated if the man was arrested from these recent events after being found with the family over the past week.

--More road construction begins today in Little Falls as 11th Street Northeast will be closed to through traffic for road work from the Highway 27 stoplights near Coborn's Marketplace all the way around to Haven Road/1st Street near the old Crestliner Building. This project will continue for the next few weeks in Little Falls along with many other city and county projects continuning through the fall.

--A St. James woman and two children were hurt when a car collided with a school bus southwest of Eden Valley Friday morning. The Meeker County Sheriff's Office says a bus carrying 15 kids was stopped at a bus stop in the 59,000 block of County Road 36 in Manannah Township just before 7:30 a.m. Sheriff's officials say 22-year-old Alexis Wegner was traveling in the same direction when it came upon the stopped bus and rear-ended it. Authorities say the lights were activated at the time of the crash. Wegner was taken to Paynesville Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The sheriff says an 8-year-old girl and a 6-year-old girl were also taken to Paynesville Hospital with minor, non-life-threatening injuries.

--A Milaca woman was seriously injured Saturday just after 4pm on Highway 23 at 90th Avenue in Mille Lacs County. 49-year-old Cheryl Propson rear-ended a freight truck making a left turn. Propson sustained life threatening injuries and taken to North Memorial in the Twin Cities. Her passenger, Greg Propson, age 60 of Onamia had non life threatening injuries and taken to Princeton Hospital. The truck driver, 26-year-old Austin Greely of Milaca was not hurt.

--Two people were hurt in Hewitt Saturday in a two-vehicle accident just before 3pm. 78-year-old Jerry O'Connor of New London was southbound on 71 when their vehicle was struck by another turning from Highway 210 onto 71 driven by 76-year-old Sandra Matas of Edina. O'Connor and his passenger Sandra O'Connor were both treated for injuries in Wadena. Matas was not injured.

TWINS= Kansas City beat the Twins 6-4 in 11 innings Friday. Twins beat up the Royals Saturday winning 9-2. Royals win Sunday 5-3 to win the series. The Twins have a makeup game at New York with Yankees today 12:30pm pregame on Q92 WYRQ.
NFL= Cincinnati beat the Vikings 27-24 in overtime to win opener. Vikings are at Arizona Sunday at 3:05pm.
COL FB= Gophers hold off Miami (Ohio) Saturday 31-26, now 1-1.
HS FB= Pierz 41-0 over Minnewaska, Royalton 22-0 over Holdingford on Friday, Little Falls USA, Foley and Pillager lost their games Friday.
WRE= Minnesota native and Olympic Gold Medalist Gable Steveson officially announced Thursday that he has signed a multi-year deal with WWE. However, before that, Steveson will return to defend his 2021 Division One heavyweight title at the University of Minnesota.
NFL= legendary Vikings center Mick Tingelhoff has died at age 81.
