Farm equipment without lights or reflectors caused a collision Thursday west of Sauk Centre. A southbound Eagle Talon approached a southbound tractor pulling a round baler on Stearns County Road 183 in Ashley Township. 30-year old Jose Manuel Diaz Torres of Sauk Centre, swerved to avoid hitting the dark baler that was also blocking the tractor’s lights. His car struck the left tire of the baler then rolled in the ditch shortly before 8:00pm. Torres was taken by ambulance to the Sauk Centre hospital for treatment of a head injury. The tractor driver, 71-year old David William Bromenshenkel of Sauk Centre, was not injured but did receive a citation. Torres received a citation for driving without a valid license. In the news release, the Sheriff’s Office reminded people “who are harvesting to have visible and operational safety equipment and lights on their equipment.”
