Deputy Sandberg funeral this past Friday in Aitken

Thousands of people attended the funeral for Aitkin County Deputy Steven Sandberg Friday at Aitkin High School. Around 2,000 law enfrocement officers from around the state, country and even Canada filled the facility to honor Sandberg for his 24 years of service and offer their support and condolences to the deputy’s family. Sandberg was killed a week ago Sunday after an altercation at St. Cloud Hospital where a suspect was table to get Sandberg’s gun and shot him. The suspect later died at the hospital. The governor ordered flags at half staff Friday in honor of Deputy Sandberg.
