NEWS
--The Morrison County Sheriff's Office responded to a one vehicle accident Saturday before 3:00am on 113th Street south of Pierz in Pierz Township. The vehicle was traveling east, crossed the center line and went into the ditch on the north side of the road, struck a road approach and went airborne. The truck then rolled and both occupants, 24-year-old Nathan Brill and 25-year-old Nicholas Kroll both of Pierz were ejected and both pronounced dead when authorities arrived on the scene. The crash is under investigation.

--The Morrison County Sheriff's Office responded to an ATV accident with injuries on Forest Road in Darling Township north of Little Falls Saturday afternoon around 12:30pm. 15-year-old Hunter Oslowski of McGrath was driving an off road vehicle on a trail when he turned a corner too fast and rolled. Oslowski sustained head injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment. His condition was not released. A passenger on the vehicle was not injured.

--A 25-year-old from Little Falls was injured Sunday on Highway 10 near Rice. Around 1:20am Thomas Boblett was on Highway 10 when he went off the road and rolled a number of times. Boblett was taken to the hospital with multiple non-life threatening injuries.

--On Wednesday, the Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force along with officers of the Little Falls Police Department conducted a search warrant at the address of 1015 10th St. SW, Little Falls. Little Falls Police officers went to that address following up on an un-related complaint and upon walking up to the house observed the resident, identified as 38-year old Stephen Burke of Little Falls sitting at his kitchen table packaging a large amount of marijuana for resale purposes. The officers then secured the residence and requested the assistance of the task force. Upon obtaining a search warrant, the task force located approximately 2 ½ pounds of marijuana, 23 grams of marijuana wax and close to $2,500 in U.S. Currency. Burke was taken to the Morrison County Jail and booked on suspicion of 5th degree possession and 5th degree possession with intent to sell. The Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force is comprised of officers from the Sauk Rapids, Little Falls and St. Cloud Police Departments along with deputies from Stearns, Morrison, Benton, Todd and Sherburne Counties.

--Two women were hurt when their vehicles sideswiped each other on Interstate 94. The Minnesota State Patrol says it happened just after midnight Friday morning just north of Monticello. Thirty-nine-year-old Stacy Mcnab of St. Cloud, and 52-year-old Laura Anderson of Becker, were both going west. Both were taken to CentraCare Hospital in Monticello with non life-threatening injuries.

--An 8-year-old Albany girl was injured Thursday morning when she was hit by a truck while running across Sixth Street to the school bus stop. Jade Ottoson was taken by Melrose Ambulance to St. Cloud Hospital with an apparent leg injury. The driver, 51-year old Kevin Mader of Freeport was driving north about 7:30am when Ottoson ran out from between parked vehicles. He could not stop in time as the right front bumper struck the girl. Mader was not speeding. Skid marks were not found on the street. The bus was too far down the road for warning lights to be activated.

--Parent Teacher Conferences today from 3:45pm-7:45pm at the Little Falls Community High School.

--The Little Falls City Council meets tonight 7:30pm at City Hall.

--The Motley City Council voted to hire Lacey Smieja, a Little Falls resident, as the new city administrator. Smieja will begin her duties as Motley city administrator on November 1st.

--The Little Falls Police Department in the past week reported a theft of a bicycle on Second Street Southeast, an arrest of 52 year old man on Fifth Avenue Southeast and two domestic incident reported. They also reported two reports of people wearing clown masks late night on October 7th and October 9th both are being investigated.

--One person was killed in an accident involving a school bus with students on board Friday afternoon. Around 4:45pm, the bus was on Highway 47 near Oglivie in Kanabec County when it was struck from behind by another northbound vehicle. The bus was stopped with lights flashing and the stop sign out. 66-year-old Marvin Kuiper of Isle was dead at the scene. The bus driver, 54-year-old Daniel Torgeson of Oglivie was not injured Some of the students on the bus sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

--One person was killed Saturday around 5:30pm on Highway 28 near Westport. 20-year-old Dominic Marthaler of Sauk Centre was on 110th Avenue, failed to yield at the highway and struck broadside the vehicle driven by 70-year-old Susan Kuseske of Villard. Kuseske's passenger, 71-year-old Larry Kuseske was killed. Susan was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Marthaler was not injured.

--Brainerd Police will hold a community notification meeting Tuesday night at 6:00pm at the Brainerd Police Department on 47-year-old Michael Swearingen who intends to reside on Gillis Avenue. He has a history of sexual contact with minors both male and female. He is not wanted by authorities and his sentence was been fulfilled.

LYNX= Los Angeles came out to a 17-2 start on Friday and went on to beat Lynx 92-75 to take a 2-1 series lead. Lynx rebound with 31 points from Maya Moore Sunday to beat LA 85-79 and tie the series. The final game of the series in Thursday night in Minneapolis for title.
COL FB= Gophers beat up on Maryland 31-10 Saturday, now 4-2.
NHL= Wild win home opener 4-3 Saturday night over Winnipeg.
NFL= Dallas beat Green Bay, Jaguars beat Bears, Lions beat Rams.
HS FB RECAP= Royalton, Pierz and Upsala Swanville all win on Friday and all go to 6-1. Royalton 29-0 over KMS, Pierz rallied to beat Rockford 30-21, USA routs BBE 41-0. Holdingford won while Little Falls and Foley suffered losses. The season finales are Wednesday.
