A Pierz man faces charges after fleeing from Stearns County deputies during a traffic stop. The release said a deputy initiated a traffic stop on County Road 17 in Holdingford. During the stop, the deputy learned the driver, 31-year old Aaron Swanson had active felony warrants for controlled substance violations. When the deputy asked Swanson to perform a field sobriety test, Swanson put the car in drive and fled the scene. Deputies followed Swanson for several miles until Swanson struck a squad car. No one was injured during the pursuit. Swanson was arrested and is being held in the Stearns County Jail. He is awaiting court on several charges.
