Around 5:20pm on Monday the Benton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 3 vehicle fatality accident on Benton County Road 5, about ¼ of a mile to the east of Benton County Road 6. 17-year old Tessa Fussy of Oak Park had been driving west on county road 5 when she stopped in the roadway to make a left hand turn into a residence. As Fussy was waiting for eastbound traffic to clear, her vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by 35-year old Brandon Bellamy of Blaine. After colliding with Fussy’s vehicle, Bellamy’s vehicle continued into the eastbound lane of county road 5 and collided head on with a car driven by 52-year old Joan Novak of Foley. First aid was administered to all three drivers and an 11 year old boy who was a passenger in Novak’s vehicle. Brandon Bellamy was fatally injured in the crash and pronounced dead at the scene. Novak and her 11 year old passenger were transported to the St. Cloud Hospital with serious injuries. Fussy was treated at the scene and released. The investigation into the cause is ongoing.
