A Brainerd woman was arrested early Wednesday morning after fleeing from police officers following a hit-and-run collision in Baxter. Shortly after 9:20am Wednesday, Brainerd Police officers responded to assist with a two-vehicle property damage crash that occurred at Isle Drive and Forthun Road in Baxter. Brainerd Police learned that one of the vehicles involved had fled the scene. Brainerd officers responding on College Drive observed the vehicle that fled eastbound on College Drive in the area of the Kiwanis Park. The vehicle led officers on a chase until it was eventually blocked in at a parking lot in 100 block of Second Avenue Northeast. One Brainerd Police vehicle received very minor damage. The driver, 31-year old Stephanie Josephine Molash was taken into custody without incident. Molash was transported to jail and is being held on charges of fleeing a peace officer in motor vehicle, numerous driving offenses and for violating probation. This case will be forwarded to the Crow Wing County Attorney’s office for review for formal charges.
