8th District Congressman Rick Nolan plans to seek another term next year. The 71-year-old DFL congressman is in his fifth term in the House and his second representing the voters of northeastern and central Minnesota. Nolan narrowly defeated Stewart Mills III in the swing district last year. A Republican candidate has not yet emerged. Nolan previously represented Minnesota’s 6th congressional district from 1975 to 1981. He re-entered politics in 2011 and went on to defeat first-term incumbent Chip Cravaack in November 2012.
