Bayer expands biological crop protection portfolio

Bayer continues to expand its biological crop protection product portfolio. The global agribusiness giant recently announced a more than $17 million dollar investment to its Wismar, Germany site for further research and development of biologicals. Bayer has concentrated its research and development activities on natural fungi to control nematodes and fungal diseases in plants. The first biological fungicide introduced by Bayer was approved in Germany nearly 20 years ago.
