Purdue website aims to educate on GMOS

Thursday, December 15th 2016

Purdue University has a new website dedicated to factual information on genetically modified organisms or GMOs. Jay Akridge, Dean of the Purdue College of Agriculture says the site – called The Science of GMOs – is designed to be an educational resource for the public. Akridge says the website answers many questions around GMOs – such as what they are, how they are regulated, and if they cause harm to animals and humans. He says the website focuses on scientific fact rather than advocacy and feedback from the public has been positive. The Science of GMO’s is an educational effort funded by Purdue University.
