2017-3-27: TIMING OF PERDUE VOTE STILL UP IN THE AIR

TIMING OF PERDUE VOTE STILL UP IN THE AIR

Tuesday, March 28th 2017

(Washington, D.C.) The timetable for a Senate vote on Sonny Perdue as Secretary of Agriculture remains up in the air. Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley, a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, says Perdue could receive committee approval this week. The question, Grassley says, is whether the full Senate will vote on Perdue before it breaks for its Easter recess next week. Perdue will eventually be approved, Grassley says. Agriculture Secretary was the final cabinet nomination made by the Trump Administration.  It was announced just prior to Trump’s inauguration in January.
