The Little Falls City Council set their 2016 preliminary tax levy at their meeting Monday night. The proposed levy for 2016 was $3,716,250. That is a 5% increase from this years tax levy of $3,539,500. The final levy will be set later this year. The final levy can be lowered but cannot be raised from the proposed amount. The city’s preliminary budget was also set, at $5.171 million for the general fund and $4.355 million for the enterprise fund. The final budget can be adjusted higher or lower than this estimate. A public meeting to discuss the proposed budget and levy has been scheduled for Monday, December 7th at 7:30pm at City Hall.
