The man accused of trying to kill his estranged wife by ramming her vehicle and firing several gunshots at her last fall in west St. Cloud has been found incompetent to continue in the criminal case against him. 67-year old Gary Dennis Vogt is charged in Stearns County District Court with two counts of attempted first-degree murder. He is accused of shooting Sandra Vogt twice after trying to run her vehicle off the road. Seventh Judicial District Judge Sarah Hennesy signed an order Monday finding Vogt incompetent to face those charges. Gary Vogt likely will be committed as mentally ill, and treatment professionals will try to restore him to competency with the possibility that he face the charges in the future.
