The man sentenced to death in the 2003 kidnapping and murder of Pequot Lakes native Dru Sjodin is claiming juror misconduct during his trial. A federal judge in September will hear arguments from a 2011 motion by attorneys of Alfonso Rodriguez Jr. that he should not be executed and should appear back in court for his claim of juror misconduct. Rodriguez has been on death row in Indiana since being found guilty of kidnapping and murder of Sjodin back in 2003.
