Minnesota Egg production during September 2015 was 203 million eggs, down fractionally from last month, and down 21 percent from last year, according to the latest Chickens and Eggs release from the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. The average number of all layers on hand during September 2015 was 9.25 million, up 6 percent from last month, but down 18 percent from last year. Eggs per 100 layers for the month of September were 2,195, down 7 percent from last month, and down 4 percent from last year.
