Minnesota Voices from Vietnam 50th Anniversary Vietnam Exhibit opening Saturday, July 18th at the Minnesota Military Museum. Primarily using previously unrecorded stories and experiences, the exhibit tells stories from the lives and service of Minnesota men and women serving in the, Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War. The exhibit focuses primarily on the ten year period from the start of major United States military involvement in 1965, to the fall of Saigon in 1975. It also covers US Allies, and early involvement from the end of WWII, and the war’s aftermath. The museum and special exhibits will be open from 10:00am-5:00pm with an opening ceremony beginning at 1100. Special guest speaker will be retired Major General Larry Shellito, the current commissioner of Veterans Affairs for Minnesota, former Adjutant General of the Minnesota National Guard and Vietnam Veteran. The public is invited to participate in the exhibit opening or to visit the museum anytime over the next 4 years. The program Minnesota Military Radio with Tom Lyons will feature the exhibit at the museum this weekend on the program which can be heard following the 7:00am news Sunday on Q92 WYRQ and following the noon news Sunday on AM960 KLTF.
