A concentrated law enforcement effort against speeding on Minnesota roadways has yielded more than 16,000 citations. The Department of Public Safety says more than 300 law enforcement agencies participated in the crackdown from July 10th to the 26th. Troopers, deputies and officers issued 16,410 citations for unsafe speeds. Officials say illegal speeds contributed to 415 deaths on Minnesota roads in the last five years.
