--The Granddaddy of mid-summer festivals starts today in Swanville with the 55th Annual Swanville Mid-Summer Carnvial. The midway and events get going at 5:00pm today; music tonight by the Fabulous Armadillos; tomorrow midway and events start at 3:00pm and music tomorrow night by Switch. Sunday is the big parade at 11:30am with the carnvial, food and music through the afternoon in Swanville.

--At 11:07am Thursday a Morrison County Deputy came upon a one vehicle accident with injuries on Sage Road near 103rd Street, south of Hillman in Lakin Township. According to the Sheriff’s Office, 21-year old Ashley Gross of Foreston was traveling north on Sage Road when her car went off the road and rolled. Gross’s passenger, a 5-year old girl was treated and released from the scene for minor cuts and scrapes.

--The city of St. Cloud will be testing outdoor warning sirens today. Maintenance repairs are being completed on nine sirens. Each siren will be tested for about three minutes to ensure it is working properly. For more information, call the emergency management office at (320) 259-3670.

--The owner of a St. Cloud day care facility has been charged with three counts of felony theft by swindle and three counts of felony theft by wrongfully obtaining assistance. 45-year old Abdi Ali Mohamud of Minneapolis opened Moon Light Daycare Center LLC on the north side of St. Cloud in 2013. Within its first year of operation, the day care began receiving reimbursement from the Minnesota Department of Human Services Child Care Assistance Program, which is designed to make child care affordable for income eligible families. Investigations by DHS, Stearns County Human Services, the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the St. Cloud Police Department beginning in 2014 and continuing for three years revealed that Moon Light Daycare had falsely reported the number of CCAP eligible children attending the daycare center in order to receive over payments from DHS. According to the criminal complaint, over a three-year period Moon Light Daycare received more than $58,000 in payments to which it was not entitled. Mohamud is expected to appear in court on August 21st.

--A judge has granted the Wetterling family an additional month to file documents in the investigative file into their son's 1989 kidnapping that they don't want released to the public. Attorneys representing Jerry and Patty Wetterling will have until July 31st to submit contested documents under seal to Seventh Judicial District Court Judge Ann Carrott. Carrott will review the documents and decide whether they should be released with the rest of the investigative file into the disappearance of Jacob Wetterling. The original deadline was June 30th.

--One person was hurt after a rear end crash in Stearns County Wednesday afternoon. The state patrol says 65-year old Samuel Pederson of Becker, was heading east on I-94 when he was rear ended by a pickup truck. The driver of the pickup 39-year old Matthew Olander of Staples was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Pederson was not hurt. Authorities reported Olander was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash which happened near Highway 24 around 1:30pm.

--The Pierz City Council meets Monday at 7pm at Pierz City Hall.

--Crow Wing County reported they arrested a man Sunday after a chase resulted in the man running into a Baxter woman's residence. The resident of a home on the 5300 block of Marohn Road was upstairs when she saw 20-year old Rustie Blaine Ryan of Brainerd, running toward her house with police chasing him. The suspect ran directly to the woman's unlocked front door and let himself in. The incident began after a call of an intoxicated person carrying a hammer near Highland Scenic Road and Highway 210. The officer advised the man to drop the hammer he carried three times before Ryan complied. Ryan also threw what appeared to be a screwdriver on the ground, which was later learned to be a knife. Ryan allegedly failed to stop per the officer's commands as he continued to cross the railroad tracks, and because he had pushed the officer as he walked away. Ryan went inside the home, locked himself in a room but was later apprehended by the officer. Ryan appeared Wednesday in Crow Wing County District Court, where he was charged with felony first-degree burglary, fleeing police and other charges.

--Police in Duluth are searching for a missing teenager. 17-year-old Leah Buehring of Duluth was last seen six days ago. Police say she may also be using the name Angel Faith James. She is described as white, 5-7, 180 pounds, with brown hair and hazel brown eyes. She could also be wearing a brace on her right knee. Anyone who knows of her whereabouts is asked to contact 911 or Duluth Police.

--A 35-year old man was arrested Tuesday night after he overturned a boat pulling a tube on Crow Wing Lake. At 9:24pm Tuesday, the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office was called to respond to an overturned boat on the lake. The sheriff's office reported the boat contained six passengers, five of whom were children under 16 years old. Two children rode on the tube, and three were in the boat at the time it overturned. An adult was also a passenger in the boat. Neither the driver nor the passengers suffered injury as a result of the incident. The boat operator, 35-year old Justin Michael Haehn was arrested under suspicion of boating while intoxicated. Haehn was charged in Crow Wing County District Court Wednesday with two counts of gross misdemeanor driving while intoxicated.

Twins have day games Saturday and Sunday both starting with pregame at 12:30pm on Q92 WYRQ. Then it is the All Star Break for MLB.
WNBA= Sylvia Fowles and Renee Montgomery each score 20 points as the Lynx improve to 13-1 beating Los Angeles 88-77 on Thursday.
