NEWS
--Today is St. Patrick's Day. In Ireland a holy day with a family meal and church services. In America, parades and lots of green for the Patron Saint of Ireland. There are parades in St. Paul and Minneapolis today and in Cross Lake on Saturday. Many establishments will be serving Irish type of alcohol. A reminder from the Minnesota State Patrol and local law enforcement not to drink and drive. Enhanced patrols will be out Friday through Sunday watching for impaired drivers on Minnesota roadways. Let's make this a safe and happy St. Patrick's Day Holiday.

--A woman who jumped from the Washington Street Bridge in Brainerd Wednesday is alive after being pulled from the river by rescuers. A witness saw the woman on the bridge on the south side of the outside edge near the Dairy Queen parking lot and tried talking to her. Another woman joined the first and attempted to hold on to the woman. When police arrived apparently the woman let go of the two others and jumped 50-60 feet to the water. The woman was pulled out by rescuers taken up a hill and placed in an ambulance where she was taken to the hospital for treatment. Police thanked all involved in helping the woman before they arrived on scene. The woman, whose name was not released, is expected to be OK.

--Grocery store giant, philanthropist and civic leader Dan Coborn died Wednesday at age 86. Coborn, a third-generation leader of the St. Cloud-based grocery store chain bearing his family's name, helped expand the company’s footprint during his 40 years in leadership positions to many stores across the state including Little Falls. Coborn had five children, including current Coborn’s Inc. president and chief executive officer Chris Coborn. Dan Coborn was thrust into management of the family business after the death of his father in 1959. He ran the business with his brothers and was eventually elevated to chairman, president and chief executive officer.

--The Minneapolis Police Department bomb squad was called to a Becker drug bust involving a grenade. 28-year old Koda Kaine Lambert and 64-year old Glenn Raymond Lambert both of Becker, were arrested Wednesday following a drug bust at a home in the 13000 block of Third Street SE in Becker. While searching the residence on a narcotics search warrant, investigators located approximately 18 grams of methamphetamine, 9 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun, two shotguns and the top half to a grenade. The Minneapolis Police Department bomb squad responded to the scene, where they removed and destroyed the top half of the grenade. The handgun recovered during the search was determined to be stolen from a residence in Zimmerman in September 2016. Koda Lambert was arrested for third and fifth degree possession of a controlled substance, a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Glenn Lambert was arrested for possession of stolen property, possession of a firearm with a removed serial number, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of an explosive or incendiary device without a permit. Both are being held in the Sherburne County Jail awaiting arraignment.

--Pope Francis stated that the abstaining of meat on Fridays has been dismissed for today due to St. Patrick's Day. The Pope stated that it was understood on this day that many enjoy Irish type dishes of corned beef and other items. It is allowed for today the eating of meat products for St. Patrick's Day.

SPORTS
NCAAM= The #5 seed Minnesota Golden Gophers were upset Thursday by #12 seed Middle Tennessee State 81-72. Most players are expected back again next year for the Gophers who only graduated one senior.
VIKINGS= The Vikings signed running back Latavius Murray who played the last 4 seasons with the Oakland Raiders. Murray is likely to be the starter next season. GM Rick Spielman announced Thursday that the Adrian Peterson era in Minnesota has come to an end. Spielman in a text stated “Peterson will not be a Viking next season”. Peterson is being sought by a number of teams but no official deals have been made. The Vikings also signed wide receiver Adam Thielen to a 3-year-deal. Thielen had his best season with Vikings last year.
NCAA= Big 10 Hockey tournament resumes tonight with the Gophers playing at 6:30 on KLTF, a win they play again Saturday.
TWINS= Twins vs. Boston Saturday and Sunday in spring training play, both games at noon on Q92 WYRQ.
