–Today is the kickoff for the June Dairy Days with Coborn’s Superstore, Cetra Sota and Little Falls Radio. Get a cheeseburger, milk chug and ice cream for $3 from 10am-6pm today. KLTF Party Line will be live today from 10:00am-noon at Coborns’ for the June Dairy Event, with special guests, dairy princesses and others.

–Cass County over the weekend responded to three all terrain vehicle crashes. The first around noon Saturday in Backus in the Foot Hills State Forest. The driver, 57-year old Kevin Baker of Arizona was found pinned underneath his vehicle. He was extracted and airlifted to North Memorial in Robbinsdale for his injuries. The second crash occurred around 4:30pm also in the Foot Hills State Forest. 22-year old Timothy Czech of Marshall was operating his machine, fell from it and was injured. He was treated at the Brainerd hospital. The third crash was just before 6:00pm in Remer Township. 56-year old Randy Punchochar of St. Michael and 54-year old Kellie Juhl of Clearwater were on an ATV that lost control on a driveway and rolled several times, striking a mailbox. Both were taken to Deer River and then to the Duluth hospital with serious injuries.

–Three people were injured Monday in a three vehicle accident in Baxter. Around 3:00pm, 76-year old Eileen Lindsay of Nisswa, collided on Highway 371 at Wise Road with 69-year old Dean Helgenson of Bemidji which caused the first vehicle to strike a third driven by 61-year old Bruce Tabor of Ironton. Lindsey, Helgeson and his passenger, 61-year old Karen Valentine of Bemidji were taken to the Brainerd hospital for treatment of injuries. Tabor was not injured.

–Crow Wing County reported a Ham Lake man was severly injured Friday just before 6:00pm, when his motorcycle slid off off County Road 1 near Emily. 32-year old Scott Spindler had to be taken by helicopter from the scene and airlifted to a Twin Cities hospital.

–A 12-year-old was injured Saturday when he apparently jumped out of a boat on Bass Lake in Pequot Lakes and cut his leg on the propellor of the watercraft. The boy was riding on the boat with his 18-year old brother when he became freightened and jumped from the boat. Gabriel Rogers of Roseville was taken to the Crosby Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained.

–Many townships will hold cleanup days or events this Saturday. There will be a cleanup day for residents living in Bellevue Township at the Bellvue Town Hall from 8:00am-12:00pm. For information call Jean at 584-8200. Cushing, Darling and Parker Townships will have a cleanup day Saturday from 8:00-11:00am at the Darling Town Hall. For information contact Jay at 630-1457. There will be a cleanup day for residents in Belle Prairie Township on Saturday from 8:00am-1:00pm at the Belle Prairie Town Hall. For information call Babe at 632-9415. There is also a cleanup day on Saturday for the City of Upsala from 9:00-11:00am at the Upsala Recreation Building. For information on that clean up day call Michelle at 573-4950.

–The Minnesota Department of Health is reminding outdoor enthusiats to check yourselves thoroughly for ticks. The tick season is on the rise and Lyme Disease and tick borne illnesses were up 35% in the month of May from last year. This comes as a new form of deer tick disease has also surfaced this year across Minnesota.

–It’s the first Rock Roll and Stroll of the season tonight in Pierz. Food, drink, music, prizes, poker walk and of course classic cars right down the main drag in Pierz. Stop by tonight from 5-8pm in Pierz.

–A semi driver from Owatonna, who rear-ended a taxi cab in St. Cloud where two people died, won’t face the most serious criminal charges. Benton County Attorney Philip Miller issued a statement indicating there wasn’t sufficient evidence in the case to charge James Cockram with felony Criminal Vehicular Homicide. However, Miller says the case has been referred to the city of St. Cloud for possible lesser charges. The 61-year old Cockram was driving the big rig on Highway 10 when he rear ended the taxi which was waiting at a red light. The crash happened at the intersection of Highway 10 and East St. Germain Street in St. Cloud March 18th. The crash killed the cab driver, 66-year old Thomas Findlay of Sartell and a passenger, 22-year old Emily LeTourneau of Big Lake. Another passenger, a 24-year old New Hope woman suffered serious injuries and was taken to St. Cloud Hospital. The State Patrol said at the time there was no indication Cockram took any action to avoid the collision.

–St. Cloud is one of four locations for free workshops addressing workforce issues in the agriculture and manufacturing industries. The Minnesota AgriGrowth Council is hosting the four sessions to help employers develop strategies for attracting, recruiting and retaining talent. The St. Cloud session will be 1:00-4:00pm on July 18th at St Cloud Technical and Community College. Other sessions will be in Mankato, Detroit Lakes and St. Paul. The workshops are designed for business leaders, hiring managers, human resource professionals, operations managers, career services and faculty. There is no cost to attend but RSVPs are requested. HS BAB= Alexandria beat Little Falls 7-4 Wednesday. Little Falls hosts Thief River Falls in an elimination game today at 4pm on KLTF. If the Flyers win they would advance to Tuesday action at St. John’s.
HS SB= Pierz vs. Albany for SectionTitle- Pierz needs to win twice to advance to state- first game at 5pm on FM94 KFML.
HS BAB= Pierz vs. St. Cloud Cathedral tonight 7pm on FM94 KFML. Win or lose Pierz does advance into next week’s action.
TWINS= Twins get rocked 17-6 Wednesday to Houston and get swept in the series. The Twins (26-23) are at LA Angels of Anaheim tonight, pregame 8:30 on Q92 WYRQ.
