NEWS
--The Little Falls Fire Department responded to a car fire on Sunday around 8:00pm. 17 firefighters responded to 604 4th Street SW for fire in a vehicle parked in the driveway. The vehicle was pulled away from the building and the fire was contained to the engine compartment. There were no injuries.

--The Minnesota Twins Winter Caravan is coming to the Royalton schools today. Visiting this area are Twins player Eddie Rosario, TV broadcaster Dick Bremer and Twins mascot TC the Bear. The event centers around Royalton students and staff. The public is invited to observe at 9:00am today. You can listen to Minnesota Twins baseball all season long on 92.1FM WYRQ.

--A woman fell from a third floor deck around 4:30am Sunday after a man allegedly pushed her over the railing. St. Cloud Police found suspect 39-year old Michael Worden in the woman's apartment on Third Avenue NE, though the two don't live together. Worden of Owatonna was charged with first and third degree assault in Benton County. An ambulance took the victim to the St. Cloud Hospital where she remained in stable condition on Monday. Worden is being held in the Benton County jail and has a bail hearing on Tuesday.

--A 19-year old Minnesota woman died following an accident at a ski resort in southeastern Minnesota Saturday. Bethany Becker, of Corcoran, hit a tree after failing to make a turn toward the bottom of a ski slope at Coffee Mill Ski Area in Wabasha. The Resort is in Wabasha, about 90 miles southeast of Minneapolis.

--Even though the Minnesota Vikings did not make the Super Bowl this year, the town of Browerville will still be cheering for a sort of native son, who is the quarterback of New England. For 18 seasons, the family of Galynn Brady who is a Browerville native and also is the mother of New England quarterback Tom Brady has been one of the biggest supporters for the 5 time Super Bowl winning quarterback. Brady's uncle and cousins still live in Browerville, and Brady even gave the town a shout out during the postgame interview after beating Jacksonville Sunday. Brady said he spent many summers in Browerville and is looking forward to playing in front of his family members February 4th in Minneapolis for Super Bowl 52 against the Philadelphia Eagles. --The St. Cloud Police Department is hosting two training sessions on how to spot fake bills. The sessions will be today at the St. Cloud Police Department. The first session is from 9-10:30am and the second is from 1-2:30pm. Both classes cover the same material. If you work in a business, retail or another setting that handles bills you are encouraged to attend the class. Registration is not required but space is limited. Seating will be on a first come first serve basis.

--Sartell officials will consider the next steps in the Watab Park improvement project at their next city council meeting. During the meeting the council will be presented with visuals and cost estimates for a new park shelter. The city hopes to keep the project in the $350,000 range. Sartell does have $125,000 in Park District 2 funds and could have an additional $25,000 coming to that fund later this year. Along with the shelter, staff is also looking into grant applications to go towards pool improvements, a new pool house, new playground equipment. No action will be taken, however the council is expected to provide staff direction on how to move forward with the project.

--The Heritage Preservation Commission in Little Falls is searching for 2018 Century Homes. The commission stated that 33 homes are already century homes in Little Falls and yours could be next. If your home is over 100 years old, which means it has the same built date stamped on the foundation or have some way to prove the age of the home which the Morrison County Historical Society may be able help you with and must be within the city of Little Falls it can be designated a Century Home. For more information contact Morrison County Historical Society at 632-4007 or the Heritage Preservation Committee through the City of Little Falls at 616-5500.

--The Knights of Columbus Three Throw competition was held Sunday at Mary of Lourdes Middle School. From those competing three boys and two girls advanced as local champions to be in the District Competition February 11th in Pierz. In Boys age 11- Aden Vavrina, Boys age 12- Morgan Whitford, Boys age 13- Beau Thomas, Girls age 13- Meghan Schilling and Girls age 14- Avery Thelkeld.

--A 43-year old Brainerd man was injured in a snowmobile accident January 15th around 9:35pm on Crow Wing County Road 2 south of Brainerd. The operator, whose name was not released was taken to the hospital with a reported head injury. No other details released.

NATIONAL NEWS
--A bill ending the government shutdown was approved by the Senate and the House on Monday. The President then signed the bill late Monday ending the Federal Government Shutdown. The bill funds the government through February 8th. The latest temporary funding measure is the fourth continuing resolution, or CR, since September. Furloughed employees are expected back to work today.
