--Around 6:00am Friday the Pierz Police Department was notified of a theft that had occurred on Edward Street south. The complaint advised officers that someone had went through their vehicle over night. It was reported that a small amount of cash, prescription medication, and other miscellaneous property was removed from their vehicle. A short time later Pierz Police Department received two more reports of vehicles being gone through over night. These two incidents had occurred on Edward Street south and Second Avenue Northwest. The owners of the vehicles reported miscellaneous change and property missing. During this investigation several teenagers were identified as the possible suspects. Contact was made with these juveniles and most of the stolen property was recovered. The investigation indicated these thefts could have been going on for 1 to 2 months. Around 10:45pm Friday the teenagers were placed under arrest and transported to Lino Lakes Juvenile Detention Center. Pierz Police Chief Eric Hanneken urges citizens to call local authorities immediately if you witness any suspicious activity. --The Morrison County Sheriff's Office received a report of a stolen 2016 Polaris 900 Ranger Side x Side, blue in color, bearing Mn License #2AS14. The Side x Side was taken from inside a garage located on 73rd street in Lakin Township, near the Mille Lacs County line. The theft occurred sometime on Friday between 7:30am and 3:30pm. There was also a gun case and Ruger .22 rilfe that was located in the Ranger. If anyone has any information regarding this theft, please contact the Sheriff's Office at (320) 632-9233.

--A man’s body has been found near the Canadian Pacific Railroad tracks in western Minnesota in the town of Henning in Otter Tail County. The body was found about 12:30pm on Friday. The man’s name will be released after the family has been notified. An investigation is ongoing. His body has been sent to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office in St. Paul for an autopsy to determine how the man died. Authorities are not searching for any suspects in the incident at this time.

--Authorities have released the name of the motorcyclist killed in a crash in Meeker County. The man has been identified as 57-year old Leslie Lemke of Watertown, South Dakota. The Minnesota State Patrol says a Lemke was heading south on Highway 22 when he went off the road, hit an approach, and were thrown from his bike. He was airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital where he died from his injuries.

--A 25-year old Cass Lake man died late Thursday evening after suffering injuries in a serious assault. According to the Cass County Sheriff's Office, law enforcement received reports at 11:56pm Wednesday of a serious assault victim brought into Cass Lake Indian Health Services Hospital. The man was pronounced dead shortly after. The Cass County Sheriff's Office and Leech Lake Tribal Police Department subsequently began an investigation and search warrants were executed at two residences in Pike Bay Township, rural Cass Lake. An autopsy is scheduled with the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office. The incident remains under investigation with the assistance of the Leech Lake Tribal Police Department and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

--A motorcyclist from Little Falls was injured after apparently crashing after attempting to evade officers. Around 12:45am Saturday the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office responded to a dispute at the Grub N Pub located in Ramey. While enroute, deputies learned that the subject causing problems at the bar left on a motorcycle. A Morrison County Deputy located the motorcycle and attempted to stop it. The motorcycle fled from the deputy, driving through yards and at one point, drove straight at the deputy’s squad car. The motorcycle then went west on Nature Road at speeds of more than 100 mph. The deputy lost sight of the motorcycle and later found it crashed approximately 1⁄2 mile east of Morrill on Nature Road. According to the Sheriff’s Office, 27-year old Curtis Marshik of Little Falls was ejected off the motorcycle and transported to St. Cloud Hospital by Gold Cross Ambulance with unknown injuries. Alcohol is believed to be a factor. The case remains under investigation.

--Morrison County Highway 12 (Cable Road) is scheduled to close next Monday in order to replace the Bridge over the Swan River. Motorists using County State Aid Highway 12 between Sobieski and Swanville will encounter a detour as the Bridge over the Swan River is scheduled to be replaced. Motorists should plan their own alternative routes or plan additional time for travel in order to follow the signed detour. The closure is necessary in order to replace the existing structure which has deteriorated and reached the end of its service life. The project is expected to take three weeks depending on weather and site conditions. The project is being led by the Morrison County Public Works Department. --Motorists who travel Highway 71 through Sauk Centre will encounter delays after a project to reconstruct underground utilities begins today. Motorists should plan their travel, and expect the following: today through Thursday – all lanes of Highway 71 will close. Motorists should follow the signed detours along local roads. Friday through July 2nd – the northbound lane of Highway 71 will remain closed and detoured, and the southbound lane of Highway 71 will shift to a narrow, temporary lane through the work zone. All lanes of Highway 71 in Sauk Centre are scheduled to open by July 3rd. When complete, the project will replace city of Sauk Centre sewer, sanitary and water utilities, reconstruct Highway 71 lanes and make other improvements while lanes are closed.
