NEWS
--As the residents of Crow Wing County continue the clean up after last week’s storm, there have been reports of individuals or company’s offering inspections to homes for any storm damage and to give an estimate for repair. Crow Wing County Sheriff Todd Dahl reminds citizens of Crow Wing County to check with their homeowners insurance or individual insurance policy first which may help pay for the repairs or cleanup of their property. Check the credentials of anyone offering to clean up your property. The companies should be insured and bonded. No one should have to pay in advance for repairs or to have trees cut and removed from their property. Most legitimate companies will offer to bill you later for their service. Sheriff Dahl is also asking the public to report any suspicious activity in the area of the storm damage along with reporting any suspected fraud dealing with storm clean up.
